History

A club called Aber Valley played in the Welsh Football League Division Two East for the 1963–64 season, finishing tenth[2], and gained promotion to Division One (tier 2) at the end of the 1966–67 season after finishing third in Division Two.[3] After one season in Division One, where they finished bottom of the league[4], the club left the Welsh Football League. They were South Wales Amateur League Division Two champions in the 1970–71 season.

The current club were formed in 2000 as Aber Valley YMCA and played in the South Wales Amateur League Division Two. In 2003–04 they had seven points deducted which cost them the Division Two championship title. The following season they did finish as champions[5] They were runners-up of Division One for the 2006–07 season. [6]

In 2015 the club changed its name to Aber Valley. They were champions of Division One for the 2019–20 season[7] and were promoted to the Premier Division.[8]

Honours

gollark: Muahahaha. Now I just need to implement "compress", and also any incremental compression whatsoever.
gollark: This was partly ironic. It is horrible and inconsistent. The rules vary and are not obvious. There is an unofficial standard but not everything supports it, most things add extra stuff on, and you need 3000 lines of parser code to support it.
gollark: It's so consistent, and there are obvious simple rules which let you know exactly what it'll look like, plus it can be easily published on the web and viewed at arbitrary screen sizes.
gollark: This is why I do all my documentation as Markdown.
gollark: Somehow designing the CLI is harder than writing the actual archiver code.
