– Quebec City Tramway opening. – Crown Bridges opening. – Napoli-Foggia railway to be upgraded to 200 km/h. – Slussenområdet intermodal terminal upgrading completion (started in 2016). – West Link projected opening – MRL East Coast Rail Link opening, bringing 160 km/h service. – The Center City Connector is planned open, linking the two previously disconnected lines of the Seattle Streetcar system eight years after its initial planned opening before construction was temporarily halted.[1] – The MARTA light rail Clifton Corridor is expected to begin operations, providing Emory University and several hospitals with rail service.[2] – Texas Central Railway is expected to begin high speed service between Dallas and Austin.[3][4] – Planned opening of the Inglewood Transit Connector, intended to link the city's sports venues to the Los Angeles Metro Rail system.[5] – The segment of the Capitol Corridor running through the East Bay is planned to be rerouted over the Coast Line.[6] – Expected opening of Maryland's Purple Line light rail after being delayed from 2022.[7][8]

The state says the eastern section, from New Carrollton to College Park, is now expected to open in late 2022 and the rest of the line, from College Park to Bethesda, will likely open in June 2023. However, PLTP has said the various delays will set the opening dates back at least another two and a half years.
