2021 Copa América Group A

Group A of the 2021 Copa América, also referred to as the South Zone, will take place in June 2021 in Argentina. The group consists of hosts Argentina, guests Australia, Bolivia, record winners Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay.[1]

In the quarter-finals:

  • The winners of Group A will advance to play the fourth-placed team of Group B.
  • The runners-up of Group A will advance to play the third-placed team of Group B.
  • The third-placed team of Group A will advance to play the runners-up of Group B.
  • The fourth-placed team of Group A will advance to play the winners of Group B.

Matches

The full original schedule and kick-off times were announced on 4 December 2019 and 4 March 2020 respectively. However, due to the pandemic in South America of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) the tournament was postponed to 2021 and the new schedule was announced on 13 August 2020.[2][3]

The most significant modification in the new schedule of group A was the venue change of the match between Chile and Paraguay, moved from Córdoba to Santiago del Estero. In consecuense, the Estadio Único will host two matches.[4]
