2012 São Paulo mayoral election

The mayoral election of the Brazilian city of São Paulo took place in 7 October 2012 and 28 October 2012 to elect a mayor, a vice-mayor and 55 city councillors for the administration of the city. The incumbent mayor was Gilberto Kassab of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), who was in his last term as mayor. The elected mayor was Fernando Haddad of the Workers' Party, with 55.57% of the valid votes, while José Serra of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party was defeated with 44.43% of the valid votes.
