2006 Micronesian Games
The 6th Micronesian Games were held on Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands from June 23-July 2, 2006. The Games featured competition in 15 different sports/disciplines.

In February 2006, the Games were canceled by the Governor of the Northern Marianas, Benigno R. Fitial, due to a financial crisis and a lack of planning. However, after pleas from athletes, coaches and parents, and the creation of a financial plan, the Games were allowed to go on.
On June 23, 2006, the games were officially opened by the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands, Benigno R. Fitial. The torch lighter was swimmer Xenavee Torwal. She has won 22 gold medals in past Micronesian Games as Xenavee Pangelinan.[1]

gollark: The best way to describe the problem is probably that it's just generally very hostile to abstraction.
gollark: I resent it somewhat, because while Go has very cool *libraries* and such, and the tooling at least seems to work nicely even if it's somewhat insane, the language is really unpleasant.
gollark: Why not copyright in general?
gollark: I've messed with Codex for a few things, and it's *generally* quite capable of matching my particular style of programming if it has a big sample of it to start with.
