1978–79 Paris Saint-Germain F.C. season

The 1978–79 season was Paris Saint-Germain's 9th season in existence.[1][2] PSG mainly played their home league games at the Parc des Princes in Paris, but twice at the Stade de Paris in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine as well, registering an average attendance of 18,590 spectators per match.[1][2][3] The club was presided by Francis Borelli.[1] The team was coached by player-manager Jean-Michel Larqué until August 1978, when he stepped down to focus on his playing role at the club.[1][2][4] Pierre Alonzo took over as interim manager until Velibor Vasović became the new permanent coach in November 1978.[1][2] Mustapha Dahleb was initially the team captain, but Vasović replaced him with Dominique Bathenay during the second half of the campaign.[5]

gollark: You'd assume someone would have come up with some way to check.
gollark: BRB, renaming self to Lockheed to obtain government funding.
gollark: Yes.
gollark: The government here apparently increased the military budget quite significantly recently, despite also burning vast amounts of money on pandemic mitigation. HIGHLY intelligent of them.
gollark: Aren't a lot of US bureaucrats just arbitrarily appointed by the president?
