1953 South Carolina Gamecocks football team
The 1953 South Carolina Gamecocks football team represented the University of South Carolina during the 1953 college football season. The Gamecocks were led by 13th-year head coach Rex Enright and played their home games at Carolina Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. They competed as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference, in the conference's inaugural year. South Carolina and six other schools from the Southern Conference broke off to form the new conference in 1953. The Gamecocks finished the season 7–3 overall.
