Notes
- Oskarströms IF declined to be promoted to Division 2 after winning the promotion play-off and Alingsås IF were promoted in their place.
- Tie breaker is goal average.
- Since extra time, aggregate score and the away goals rule was not used, a third match played on neutral ground decided the play-off.
- Teams from a large part of northern Sweden, approximately above the province of Medelpad, were not allowed to play in the national league system until the 1953–54 season.
