Splinters was a young fourthling who betrayed the Tallow-hats to Quove Lentis.

Role in the Edge Chronicles

Splinters was part of the crew of the Xanth Filantine until he joined the tallow-hats as the youngest crew member of the Rainhawk. When the Tallow-hats were hijacking a merchant ship to extract the tallow-tax from the mine sergeants, a squadron of Freeglade Lancers had unexpectedly been waiting for them. Although the Tallow-hats managed to escape, Splinters piloting the Rainhawk back single-handed, the cargo of the merchant ship was lost. Several weeks later, the leader of the Tallow-hats, Danton Clore, suspected that Splinters had betrayed the Tallow-hats to Drax Adereth, who himself was a spy for Quove Lentis. Splinters was stabbed in the back by Thane Two-Blades and his body thrown into the fog of the Edgelands. [1]
