Quode Quanx-Querix was the founder of the Knights Academy of Sanctaphrax. He was one of the first Knights Academics to successfully retrieve stormphrax on a stormchasing mission, and also cured the First Endless Winter created by the First Scholars. Philius Embertine found a barkscroll that he had written about how to cure the first "endless winter". Quint, Raffix, Phin, Stope and Maris eventually used this method to cure the Cloudeater, and in turn, the Second Endless Winter.

A statue of Quode Quanx-Querix was located near the Viaduct Steps.
