Lummel Grope
- "Friends, one and all! We must band together...[1]"
- —Lummel Grope
Lummel Grope was a low-belly farmer goblin who was taken away from his farm to go to war.
Role in Freeglader
Lummel's older brothers Rumpel, Rudder Grope, Heep and Reel had already been sent to war, and only he and his brother Lob Grope stayed behind to harvest blue-barley. They were worried that the flat-heads would sent them to war as well, and that leaving the harvest to rot would lead to a famine[2]. Lummel and Lob tried to organise the low-belly goblins and inspire sympathy with the Free Glades, their mayor being after all also a low-belly. They started the Friends of the Harvest movement[1], which made goblins turn against their leaders in the Battle of the Barley Fields.[3]
After the War for the Free Glades, Lob and Lummel joined the Freeglades Council.[4]
Character
- "We're just simple low-bellies"
- —Lummel[2]
Lummel was more careful and less temperamental than his brother Lob, and shushed his brother when he was loudly complaining about the Clan Chiefs, fearing the attention of the guards. He believed that low-bellied goblins were not suitable for war, and should concern themselves only with their farming activities. [2]
