How to find exe listening on port?
What is using port 80?
I need to setup a local webserver that I made and bind it to 127.0.0.1:80. However, I can't seem to figure out what's using up the port 80 of this laptop. I've got IIS installed but I've already disabled it. Now, however, instead of getting the usual IIS welcome page that I didn't change, when going to 127.0.0.1 on my browser, I get the following:
Even if I go to the site directories I've set up in IIS before, it will still show this error which confirms my belief that I have successfully disabled IIS. I've been searching around and found this SU thread and tried netstat -o
. But as you can see below, there is no PID associated with port 80 which baffles me even more.
I also tried using netstat -ab -p tcp -n
but it gives off an error. See below image.
So yeah, I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me figure out what is using port 80? And also, why does it seem like there's a ghost web server running? I already checked Process Explorer and XAMPP isn't running either. In fact, i can't see anything that even resembles a web server on the process list. I can personally identify most of the processes running such as Google's Music Manager, iTunes Helper, etc.
This is on a Windows 7 32-bit setup.
I have Fiddler2 on here, will that work the same as wireshark? – Propeller – 2012-08-28T04:36:14.883
I've used Fiddler2 and found this on the raw response: http://i.imgur.com/D1hfL.png

I did a quick google, and this seems to be related to SQL server for my two top hits, see this post: http://www.devlog.nl/apache-on-port-80-blocked-by-microsoft-httpapi2-0/
– Eric G – 2012-08-28T04:47:05.897You may also want to try to disable the "Web Development Service" if it is running. – Eric G – 2012-08-28T04:48:38.177
Yes! Thanks so much, stopping
SQL Server Reporting Services
did the trick for me. – Propeller – 2012-08-28T04:52:53.470I will update the main body above. – Eric G – 2012-08-28T04:53:27.977

Just a FYI, you can't capture localhost with wireshark unless you do a lot of extra work
