Pointing Subdomain to LAN and MAMP Pro

0

Due to some internal network policies, I’m not able to access Ngrok on my work network (I’m trying to change that, but not my decision). Anyways, what I was wondering how to get it so that I can point a sub domain to a site on my MacBook Pro to do some testing and previewing. Nothing permanent, but just so I can view and test the site I’m working on. I know that I would need to point to my WAN IP and then configure my router to allow for web traffic on port 80 which I’ve already done. I’m just not sure how I would get it so that MAMP Pro can interpret the sub domain and then point to the local directory to serve out the web files.

I feel that I would need to edit my hosts file on my Mac to point the sub domain to the local domain, but I’m not sure if there is anything else that I would need to do.
