Who uses Mac OS X Server and why?
I am really curious. Mac OS X as a server sounds like a very expensive solution that is not much better than the free one provided by free software.
I understand paying extra for a nice UI and an Apple logo on your desktop computer or laptop (I did…

How do I startup Xserve OS X without the GUI?
I'd like to start-up Xserves at Unix run level 3. At least turn off the GUI and have all the service app (networking, ssh, apache, mysql, etc.) running in the background. Is this possible? How do I configure this?

How to recover data from Apple raid 0 drives from dead xserve?
Yesterday, I was given two 160GB hard drives that used to form a striped RAID in an Apple xserve. The xserve is completely non-functional, but the issue is unrelated to the hard drives and I don't think either drive is corrupted. There are no plans…

Running Mac OS X (non-server) on an Xserve?
I have a Xeon Xserve running Mac OS X Server 10.4. I'm very much not a fan of Mac OS X Server, and would prefer running plain old Mac OS X 10.5 on it.
But I'm worried that I'd lose some features in the "upgrade", such as:
Fan control. The Xserve is…

Is it possible to run Windows Server on Apple Xserve hardware?
Apple's Boot Camp allows you to run a Windows client OS on Apple hardware. Has anyone had success in running a Windows Server OS natively on Apple's Xserve hardware?
Does anyone know if Boot Camp updates coming in Snow Leopard will support this?

SSD in early 2008 Xserve Apple Drive Module
Pretty much the title: it possible to use a modern, 2.5″ SSD in an Apple Drive Module on a early 2008 Xserve? This would be replacing a 15k RPM SAS drive, and in most places I've looked that HDD is almost as expensive than a similarly sized SSD.
