WSUS Offline is a method, a set of scripts, that allows downloading of critical windows updates (including Microsoft Office updates) without using Windows Update feature, thus enabling SysAdmins to update non-Internet connected computers (by design or by necessity).

The WSUS Offline utility's main function is the download of critical updates. However, it supports additional features such as:
- Creation of .iso files for burning to CDs/DVDs
- Copying the downloaded files and installer scripts to USB storage
WSUS Offline will particularly be useful in deployments where Microsoft's WSUS is not available. Some example scenarios:
- For installation of new computers, instead of each computer having to download multi-gigabyte updates every time, download it once (every month) and apply
- For computers with intermittent and/or low-bandwidth Internet connection, download on a location with better connection, and apply offline
