I'm looking to benchmark server platforms (bare metal vs virtual machines) and calculate difference in performance + cost that comes while migrating certain workloads from bare metal to virtualised ones.
I'm looking for a list of applications which are compute (cpu, memory) and IO (disk, network) intensive to perform the above exercise. Can anyone please help me in curating this list
For example, a webapp that performs deep learning tasks can be termed as a CPU intensive application. Likewise, I need applications (in heterogeneous languages/frameworks preferably) that trigger other components of the server.
