When I read the docs on nmap.org about UDP support for IPV6 on nmap site I notice that "UDP is not supported". I know that the syntax is there, but when I run a scan against a target that is configured to send ICMP unreachables I cannot achieve good accuracy because I keep getting a large number of ports in "open|filtered" status. Against the same target, I can achieve 100% accuracy and reasonable timing with "--max-retries 0 --max-rate 50". My question is: can the UDP scan over IPV6 be made to work reliably in principle? If so, what are the good timing options for efficiency? Many thanks.
