(Not a) Teardown

iFixit performed an abbreviated teardown of the 7th-Gen iPod Touch and offered some analysis, which you can read here. We found the device to be broadly similar to the 2015 version, with subtle updates in a few areas.

Background and Identification

This 7th generation Touch features the exact same external design and dimensions as the previous model, with minor internal revisions. It features Apple's A10 Fusion SoC and storage options up to 256 GB. The 2019 iPod Touch still has a 4-inch Retina display and comes in the same space gray, gold, silver, pink, blue, and red options as the last generation. Since the 3.5 mm headphone jack was eliminated from all iPhone models, this is now the last remaining pocketable iOS device with a standard audio port. (iPads don’t count, unless you have unusually large pockets.)
