Troubleshooting

There are no troubleshooting guides for the iMac G3 at this time.

Identification and Background

The iMac G3 was Apple's new G3 all-in-one. It had tons of new features, and removed all old interfaces. It was released in 1998, and sported a 266Mhz, or 333Mhz PowerPC G3. It also came in five colors: tangerine, blueberry, lime, grape, and strawberry. These were known as the "5 Flavors."

The iMac G3 Uses a 3.5" IDE Hard Drive. It supports data partitions no larger then 128GB and boot partitions no larger then 8GB

The iMac G3 had onboard video which usually means no upgrade-ability. The iMac developers found a way to allow video upgrade-ability (sort of); they built 2MB on to the logic board to power the ATI 3D Rage Pro Turbo PCI, and added a video ram DIMM slot on the motherboard allowing users to upgrade their video ram using proprietary Apple DIMMs.
