Background and Identification

Released in May 2018, the Motorola Moto E5 is the fifth generation of the low-end Moto E line of Android smartphones produced by Motorola Mobility. The Moto E5 was released alongside the Moto E5 Plus and the Moto E5 Play.

At first glance, the Moto E does not look like a budget phone. Key features of the Moto E5 include its 4,000 mAh battery and its 18:9, 720p, 5.7” screen. Positive aspects of the Moto E5 include its big screen and vibrant display, good endurance, and solid build. However, the Moto E5 has downsides including a poor camera, mediocre performance, and no software upgrades. The quad-core processor makes the device significantly slower than the Moto G6 Play.

Overall, the Motorola Moto E5 is a budget smartphone with an impressive display, high quality camera, and long battery life. However, performance is sluggish.
