Troubleshooting

If you are having issues with your UHE-CM18 and need additional help, here is the troubleshooting page.

Background

The TotalComfort Humidifier (model number: UHE-CM18) was released in October 2021 and became a part of the TotalComfort series by HoMedics. The humidifier converts water into fine, evenly dispersed mist using high-frequency technology and can also be combined with various essential oil pads for different scents. Currently, the Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier is still being produced and sold in many different marketplaces worldwide, and it has never been recalled by the manufacturer.

The humidifier weighs 3.35 pounds with dimensions of 8.75"D x 8.75"W x 10.38"H. It has a white plastic exterior for the mist nozzle and control panel along with a translucent center that can change to 7 different colors for the water tank. The TotalComfort Humidifier uses only an AC power cord cable to power itself. The water tank can hold 0.5-gallon of fluid and can run up to 25 hours before the next refill. Some of its other features include its 360-degree rotating mist nozzle, interchangeable oil pads, and an auto-off timer that goes up to 12 hours.

From HoMedics’ collection of humidifiers, the Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier is much smaller than most of their humidifiers, so that makes it a more affordable and portable humidifier. Being made for medium-sized rooms like bedrooms or office spaces, it could be placed on bedside tables or desks in contrast with other humidifiers that are meant to be placed on the floor. The humidifier can infuse mist into an entire room up to 373 square feet. HoMedics also has two different types of humidifiers that they produce: cool mist and warm mist. Cool mist is fan-based and can effectively hydrate the air, but warm mist reduces bacteria from the mist and warms the air. All of their humidifiers actually are able to release cool mist, but only three out of their series can release both cool and warm mist. Just by looking at the name of the product, you could tell that it is a cool mist humidifier.

However, there is one humidifier from HoMedics that is almost an exact replica of the Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier, which is the Ultrasonic Medium Room Humidifier. They are practically identical in features, settings, and appearance, but they can be differentiated apart by the opacity of their water tanks. The water tank from the Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier is translucent while the one from the Ultrasonic Medium Room Humidifier is transparent, so it emits a softer glow in comparison to the other. Depending on a person’s preference, one humidifier may seem better or worse than the other, but primarily, they both are built and work the same exact way as each other.

Identification

The Total Comfort Humidifier has a compact, translucent body with a mist nozzle at the top. You can also find the control panel on the front of the humidifier, which includes the buttons for the power switch, timer, 7-color option night-light, and the signal to clean transducer/ultrasonic membrane. The model number can be located underneath the device on a sticker. This device only comes in white as a color option.
