Background and Identification

The Gateway Solo 1200 laptop was released to the public in 2001. At release, it featured an 800 MHz processor, 9.35 GB hard drive, built-in ethernet jack, and an internal slot to add 802.11b wireless network capability.

Gateway went on to release four other models of the Solo 1200 including the Solo 1200 Deluxe, Solo 1200SE, Solo 1200XL, and Solo 1200XL Deluxe. The Solo 1200 series was followed by the Solo 1400 series in 2002.
