Orb of Shielding

Orb of Shielding is the native orb of the Desert. It protects the player from being attacked for 20 turns.

The Orb of Shielding is unlocked in the Desert by collecting 10 Spice. It can also be found in most other lands after collecting 25 Spice. Orb of Shielding appears in crystal cabinets in the Land of Power.

Collecting an Orb of Shielding will give you 20 charges. You cannot have more than 77 charges. As long as you have Orb of Shielding, some green wavy rings will be drawn around you to symbolize the shield.

When you collect an Orb of Yendor, you will always get 30 charges of this Orb. Additionally, the Orb of Shielding is among the powers granted by the Orb of the Bull after walking two steps in a roughly straight line.

Effects

Orb of Shielding is a continuous Orb. As long as it is active, you are immune to monster attacks and rose scents. You are not immune to fire, water, or chasms.

In the current version of the game, you are still protected when the orb is down to 1 charge.
