- Welcome!
Hello Pope Francaisco, and welcome to D&D Wiki! I hope you are enjoying D&D Wiki and have been finding the information here useful. Before you start contributing, we recommend you make sure your user preferences match your preferences.
- Questions
If you have any questions about a specific page please ask it on that page's talk page. If you have a D&D-related question, you can ask it on DnD Discussions. Everything relating to D&D Wiki's administration can be asked here. If you need to contact another user, please use their talk page.
- Formatting
Syntax can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). This will explain basic wiki formatting and should provide quite a few useful links that explain more specific areas of wiki formatting. Help:Portal also provides detailed explanation of information important specifically to this community.
- Community
A strong and welcoming community exists on D&D Wiki, and I'm sure you will find us friendly. To enable the community to function, a number of policies are in effect. Most importantly, we follow and expect you to follow Wikipedia's guidelines on civility and etiquette when discussing anything. As most work has multiple authors, please do not delete content without following our removal process. When posting a comment on a talk page, please ensure you sign your name with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature icon (
Policies
I'm sorry I failed to introduce myself and the policies sooner. I see my inaction has lead to some minor conflict. Please read the following pages.
Help:Mission Statement states what we are and how we roll.
Help:Policies gives an overview of wiki policies.
Help:Legal explains the licensing of the wiki, which is the justification for most of our social protocol.
Help:Precedent and Help:Spirit and Intent set down principals which guide collaborative creativity.
Help:Improving, Reviewing, and Removing Templates will tell you about the templates we use to improve and preserve page quality.
Help:Behavioral Policy explains the social policies of this community.
I hope this has been helpful. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. --Kydo (talk) 22:52, 6 October 2016 (MDT)
Help:Behavioral Policy

Kydo, let me tell you something, I only called you a loser, although it is true. You cussed out someone over editing a page. You need the bevahavior policy more than me. I incist. Pope Francaisco (talk) 01:46, 25 October 2016 (MDT)
- By my recollection, that was before I became an admin, and I was disciplined according to the policy for it. That was done in an edit comment, which can't be edited or removed, so my mistake will unfortunately persist. Can you provide a link to where I violated our policy on civility since then? If it's true, then yeah, I'll take the heat for being a prick. I've done it before. I actually don't care that you called me a loser. I work in a place where people call each other far worse things every day. However, editing another user's user pages is pretty thoroughly not acceptable behavior in this community. For propriety's sake, you should have posted the comment on a talk page. I'm not pleased with how SirSprinkles deleted your comment, (as that is also pretty unacceptable) rather than moving it to talk, but he's not experienced with policy enforcement yet. I would have said more at the time, but I didn't have much time to afford the wiki yesterday. As for the Selachinoid: No. I won't leave it alone. I like the concept, and I want to see it improved. Last time I looked at it, it wasn't up to snuff. I've been busy with other projects for a while, so I have no idea what state it's in at the moment. That note on my schedule is just a reminder to check in on it and see what it's like when I next have free time. (And then post maintenance templates if it's still wonky) I'm sorry you don't like that. --Kydo (talk) 09:38, 25 October 2016 (MDT)
- Please don't flag my race for lacking a very detailed history. I'm trying my best. Pope Francaisco (talk) 11:49, 25 October 2016 (MDT)
- That's all anyone can ask! A reviewing or improving template is not a deletion template. They only turn into an abandoned template if nobody touches the thing for a long time. We have pages that have been on an improving template for years because the contributors simply do not value the rest of the community's standards in that regard. All it says is that it isn't up to the standards expected by other users. That doesn't mean it's unusable or invalid, just that people think it can be better. I think Selachinoid can be better. I want it to be better. I want to see every good idea grow to a point where it can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with professionally published content, because in actual play, it's going to have to. --Kydo (talk) 12:42, 25 October 2016 (MDT)
- Give me all of the problems with Selachinoids then. Pope Francaisco (talk) 17:13, 25 October 2016 (MDT)
