Edit Warring

Hello, continued dubious edits and editing waring such as on the Goron (5e Race) and other pages will lead to an official warning and the Help:Warning Policy being enacted. ConcealedLight (talk) 12:53, 24 August 2018 (MDT)

Hi, please avoid reinstating edits that increase a race's power level unnecessarily, as you have done on Zora (5e Race), without at least first discussing with the person that undid your edit(s). This counts as your first warning. (does that make CL's message above the 0th warning?) Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 12:38, 26 August 2018 (MDT)
More like a reminder we have a policy Geo so yes, warning 0. :P ConcealedLight (talk) 20:15, 26 August 2018 (MDT)

Talk Pages

Please do not remove their contents. Thanks. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 15:37, 1 September 2018 (MDT)

More information is available here Help:Talk Pages. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 15:45, 1 September 2018 (MDT)
I'm not going to officially warn for this as it wasn't really that bad and you were acting in good faith, but I'm going to ask you again to not remove the content of talk pages, as you have done on Talk:Cyborg (5e Race), even if that information is outdated. Thanks. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 20:42, 15 January 2019 (MST)
Please don't remove talk page comments. Thanks. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 21:21, 1 February 2019 (MST)

Warning

For this edit I am formally warning you as per the Help:Warning Policy. You've been on this site long enough to know that blanking pages is not acceptable. This is your second warning; next time will be a ban. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 17:17, 11 January 2019 (MST)

I made both of those classes, they are both the same, and I just needed to change the name. PickleJarPete (talk) 11:50, 13 January 2019
If you need to change the name of a page, you can use the "move" tab at the top.
Also, what other class are you referring to? I only ever mentioned Cadet (5e Class). Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 10:55, 13 January 2019 (MST)
The Titanshifter class. Sorry for any confusion. PickleJarPete (talk) 12:07, 13 January 2019
Okay, I redirected the cadet page to Titanshifter (5e Class); sorry if I upset you. My point about blanking pages (ie removing all of the page's content) still stands; blank pages can be harmful to the wiki because they can confuse other readers, so please just keep that in mind in the future. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 11:16, 13 January 2019 (MST)

In case you haven’t seen ConcealedLight’s edit summaries on Cyborg (5e Race), you shouldn’t remove maintenance templates without attempting to either address the issues brought up or reaching a consensus that the templates shouldn’t be there. Being that you’ve accrued two warnings already, you’re on thin ice, as policy dictates that the third warning earns the user a ban. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 18:30, 23 January 2019 (MST)
EDIT: Having taken a closer look at the page in question and its talk page, it seems to me that you were in the right here. Sorry about that; hopefully there are no hard feelings. 23:18, 23 January 2019 (MST)

Can we discuss my changes that you undid, please? They don't need to stay but you do need to explain why you think they shouldn't stay. Please see my comments on the talk. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 09:54, 24 January 2019 (MST)

I won't warn for this, as I don't think it's quite bad enough to warrant that, but I ask you to please not leave passive-aggressive comments, as (I perceive you to have done) with the title of the new section here. While I acknowledge that the Musicus meter isn't perfect, myself and others find it to be a useful tool to supplement one's own judgment, and I don't appreciate comments such as the one linked. Criticism of the meter is fine, just keep it respectful. Thanks. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 23:32, 14 February 2019 (MST)

(auadible sigh) okay, I’ll change it. I was just trying to let people know about its innacuracy, and believe it or not I rely heavily on it two. Next time I’ll just link them to the discussion page for it or whatever, where that issue is brought up. PickleJarPete (Talk) 3:30 Friday February 14 2019 (CST)

Huntsman Discussion

Nice job. I made a few minor edits, just to make it more viable to play in a regular session, but you've done well overall. I'll finish up the last character shortly. Glass (talk) 06:49, 21 January 2019 (MST)

Sweet. New changes look good. PickleJarPete (talk) 11:21, 21 January 2019 (CST)

Not going to lie, appreciate the assist with this. But still, some of it seems off, at least to me. I'll be busy the next two weeks, as planning out a one-shot for a bunch of wandering (and sometimes horny) players takes time and energy. But after that, let's see what we can do to improve on this subclass.

Because let's be real, the immunity to electricity to me sounds gross, main reason being that element belong to the Field of the Elemental. Just one of many. Still, very grateful you've taken up the initiative, your work will be the foundation upon which I can build and improve on. Glass (talk) 21:24, 12 February 2019 (MST)

Yeah, sweet. I couldn’t really think of anything else for that level, so i’ll start brainstorming. I do, however, want to keep around the idea of a field that the player can control metal in all sorts of ways. I also have a good idea for Sun, so I’ll try to work that out. PickleJarPete (Talk) 10:29 Tuesday February 12 2019 (CST)

Oh, and as long as we’re on the subject, I think it would be cool if the Field of Elemental had a feature that temperarily increases your strength score based on how much damage you take. Time and time again, we see Nora take lightning bolts only to grow stronger, not regain hit points. Maybe for every ten damage you take or something, your strength score goes up by one or something like that. Just a thought. PickleJarPete (Talk) 10:35 Tuesday February 12 2019 (CST)

Alright, patched up on the magnetic subclass. Not as absurdly broken, gave some clarification on the wording, and even introduced two new mechanics. Check it out, let me know on my page what you think.

Also, DON'T make one for Sun Wu Kong, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but if somebody really wanted to, they can just reflavor the Field of Shadow to be more light than darkness. Glass (talk) 08:23, 16 February 2019 (MST)

So yeah, good news, the guy that originally made the Huntsman class approved of our contributions. I am currently working with him on some of the ideas, thoughts and details that could be useful, and I'd think since you were a big part of this process that you should be a part of it. Comment on my page if you're interested. Glass (talk) 21:45, 25 March 2019 (MDT)

Sweeet. Haven't had a chance to playtest them, as convincing my friends who are already in the middle of 2 campaigns with 1 on hold to start another campaign would be near impossible. I can make a character and try to playtest him personaly in my free time, but as far as balancing goes I have to leave that to you guys. Never fear, I will still be here to provide more ideas and inspiration. PickleJarPete (talk) 21:45 26 March 2019 (CST)

Good to know. I'll keep playtesting my Bruiser and see how this class handles at lower levels. Glass (talk) 21:57, 7 April 2019 (MDT)

Warning (again)

You are being officially warned for a lack of civility, specifically with regards to this edit. Because this is your third warning, you are now blocked from editing for one week. I hope this is enough time for you to think about your behavior, and that you will resume being a productive editor on the wiki afterward. And while you’re waiting, feel free to peruse our help pages. :) Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 11:34, 24 January 2019 (MST)

I do not appreciate you creating a second account in the form of Seitit to continue editing while blocked. Based on this, I am extending your block to two weeks, and your IP will be blocked for the same amount of time. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 13:40, 24 January 2019 (MST)

Multiple Accounts

Is this the first account of two, with the second being Seitit? You should not have multiple accounts, but if you let us know about it then it's ok. --Green Dragon (talk) 22:29, 24 January 2019 (MST)

second one was a joke. Spell it backwards (not to be offensive, just for the lols, sorry for any hurt feelings in advance). PickleJarPete (talk) 11:37 Thursday 24 January 2019 (CST)
and since this seems to be the only place I can edit, I would like to apologize for my behavior earlier today. It was uncalled for and immature. In the future, I will focus on keeping th discussion sections a discussion section and not YouTube comment section. But to focus on the Cyborg race for just a second. I do not think it is unbalance, and was very confused when the resistance to lightning was removed, because it did not seem to be the root of the problem. If I were to edit this more, I would make the half healing from the Robotkin trait a variant rule, for more serious players. I think how the flying speed is handled now, where you can only fly for a turn is much better and fits the Winglord them without being overpowered. Other than that, everything else seems in check, and at the risk of sounding like our “dear president”, I have to point out that some official races see way better traits. I kind of brought this up earlier with the Lizardfolk, which when you actually look at it recives very powerful traits, including Hungry Jaws, Bite, Makeshift Weapons, swimming speed, etc. PickleJarPete (talk) 12:04 Thursday 25 January 2019 (CST)
I agree that the cyborg has made lots of necessary improvements. You have been blocked for one week, since you did not constructively improve the race. Disregarding policy, and dealing with the race how you did led you into this situation. In one week, be more careful about what is constructive and what is not. --Green Dragon (talk) 23:10, 24 January 2019 (MST)
I am confused how this user gets "in trouble" for how they handled an article when they actually used the talk page. There should be two warnings in that case. As far as attitude and disrespect, sure PJP failed in that regard but lets remember which user attempted to use a talk page. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:34, 25 January 2019 (MST)
This is one of those things that drove an admin from the site; bullying. It takes two users to edit war but only was warned, the one that used the talk page while ConcealedLight isn't looked at. This occurred a lot last year and was ignored Green Dragon. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:38, 25 January 2019 (MST)
I haven't looked into this in detail, but I am having trouble finding the official third warning (the reason for the block). Can someone link to it? And this is the first time I have heard of bullying. What drove multiple admins from this site was that a particular admin was very forceful to other admins, and I assume they don't want to work with him on a team. And of course bad management may have led another exemplary admin, SirSprinkles to leave (at least he hasn't been around anymore, but it could also be personal). --Green Dragon (talk) 07:46, 25 January 2019 (MST)
If you choose to call this the first time so be it but bullying by CL has been brought up before. My rapport has made strides with them but that doesn't mean I ignore wrong doing when it occurs, unlike some others. The warnings are as follows: [first warning], [second warning], [third warning].
The second warning is pretty weak. The other two are valid, but formatting can easily confuse new users. What are the opinions of others?
Bullying has not been brought up to me, so this is a new idea that I am hearing. I know that some people disagree with CLs use of impersonal page reviews, but that's not bullying. Bullying is forcing users to act a certain way, which is something that I haven't been approached about. --Green Dragon (talk) 08:53, 25 January 2019 (MST)
Well, I wouldn't have came out guns blazing warning for it, but you've advocated admins warning users when they've done something wrong so that they learn what they did vs just a slap on the hand and them continuing. SO, PJP violated policy and Geodude671 has the right to warn them over it. This is 1 of 2 or 3 warnings based on weak foundation that occurred relatively close. Slightly ironic when a "Nazi" meme gif is shared on Discord about admins and this happens. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 09:13, 25 January 2019 (MST)
The second warning happened because that page being blanked appeared to be vandalism. I still think the warning is valid but if others want to remove it I won't fight to keep it. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 09:33, 25 January 2019 (MST)

Wild Magic Storm

PickleJarPete, You're version isn't exactly what I had in mind but I can live with it. --Redrum 17:25, 20 February 2019 (MST)

Yeah, I figured it had something to do with the sorcerer wild magic so I just started making my own. Hope you don’t mind. PickleJarPete (Talk) 18:30, 20 February 2019 (CST)

I don't mind as long as it is usable. --Redrum 17:37, 20 February 2019 (MST)

D&D Wiki Experience

Hey PJP, I am concerned about yours and others' experience on the wiki. There has been repeated warnings and advice given about behavior on the site, including the one today. Is there an issue with our policies or is there a way to help understand what is appropriate and inappropriate? I fear that all the admins are exhausted trying to explain civility and etiquette and there won't be anymore attempts to try and help. Can you help me/us help you? ~ BigShotFancyMan 08:52, 26 March 2019 (MDT)

Yeah, sorry, a lot of the time I act out of line, and save for a few notable exceptions where i've gone off the rails (see above) I just try to put some. . . lets call it excitment into my discussions and/or conplaints. I feel that speaking my mind is acceptable and people disagreeing with each other is all I've really seen this community, so I figure I might as well make myself heard. As you probably noticed with my disscussion on the demigod page, I added a Tl;dr so people can get the root of the what im trying to say, and if they think what Im saying has merit they can go back and read it.
In terms of this comment, im dissopointed in how my image is playing out on this site, and im even more troubled by the way people see me is the same way I see the community on this site. I've told my dnd buddies countless times that this place is awesome, but the community sucks. I feel as if everyone took a step back to examine where things are going wrong and where people are bringing up complaints, we can make this place even better.
Or i've just missed the entire point and uave no idea what im talking about.
Tl;dr have some suggestions, have some complaints, been about a 50% butthole
PickleJarPete 21:18 26 March 2019 (CST)
if you’re willing to be compassionate when you share your thoughts, I’m really interested in what makes this community suck as you say. I’m not asking for names to be clear, just why do you feel this way? So far, users leave and rarely explain this portion so if I can learn something great. ~ BigShotFancyMan 20:46, 26 March 2019 (MDT)
The reason why I don't think this community is the greatest is because It's so rare to find positive reinforcement. Seriously, when was the last time you went into a disscusion page and just saw someone saying, "great job!". At best discussions turn into a neutral debate about balances or whatever, but a worst case senario results in the disscussion pahe being turned into a scorched battle field of disagreeing ideas over stuff that doesn't really matter. And i get that this is the internet, and were not supposed to expect graditude for our work or whatever. I know that at this point I just sound like a whiny kid who wants credit for things that he created, but that brings me back to my point: no o e is willing to acknolwodge anyones hard work. The best we get is a very off chance that a page several people spent hours creating gets nominated andaccespted as a featured article. Anyways, this is my suggestion: have some sort of like or favorite system that makes this website (just being honest) look up to date. That way, we can show appreciation for everyone to the hardest core of admins to the causal fan. And if you're thinking that a like buttin would turn this site into a social media place, to that I say naw. This is D fricking D. We will never be socially relevant (that was a joke).
PickleJarPete 22:01 26 March 2019 (CST)
Letting users know their work is good is a great idea. I do try but it is a good call that we don't do this enough as a community. As for a button that shows appreciation, all we can do is share with others and discuss. I do not think it has been brought up before, or at least in the last 2 years. Thanks for this reminder to take time and let others know they're doing good. If you think of other things, please share here or my talk page. ~ BigShotFancyMan 21:10, 26 March 2019 (MDT)

Campaign Setting

I noticed the {{abandoned}} you placed on Devastated Earth (The 100) (5e Campaign Setting). Since you are the sole significant contributor, do you mind its deletion instead of abandoned and waiting a year for that to expire before deleting? ~ BigShotFancyMan 08:44, 18 April 2019 (MDT)

Go ahead and delete it. I don't know how to do that. PickleJarPete 15:39, 18 April 2019 (CST)
