SSL connection error and missing captchas
Greetings! I just found out about this wiki and am excited to put in all the 5e stuff I've been making. However I have an issue with editing/creating pages
When trying to edit pages I do not see the captcha but do see the puzzle thing (which my computer seems to regularly solve in under 5 seconds?). Chrome in the URL bar informs me that "This webpage is attempting to load scripts from unauthenticated sources" I can tell it to run unsafe scripts, which makes the capcha appear.
After solving the capcha, when i hit the save page button it tries to load for a while and then sends to a page that says " SSL connection error
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR
details Unable to make a secure connection to the server. This may be a problem with the server, or it may be requiring a client authentication certificate that you don't have. "
the page does appear to get saved, and i can go to it in the wiki. I also get the same error message from attempting to follow the confirm your email link —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bradles (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- That does sound awkward. If you tell us what browser/version you're using, we might be able to have a better look at the issue, because nobody else is getting this error, as far as we're aware. --SgtLion (talk) 03:59, 10 May 2015 (MDT)
- As per Blue's talk page, it looks like there was a config error. It appears to have been rectified now. --SgtLion (talk) 07:40, 11 June 2015 (MDT)
Reporting A Troll
The IP address of 204.93.112.97 has been editing in trolling messages in various 5E pages. --Twisted9 (talk) 00:33, 10 August 2015 (MDT)
- Thanks for the information! If you find any more trolls please let someone know. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:21, 10 August 2015 (MDT)
Spelling Errors
Hello! I was wondering if someone could grant me permissions to edit some of the sections in the 5e category as I've noticed the section is plagued by spelling and grammatical errors. I would like to fix these, as I know it can put off some people from using this wiki.
An example of what I mean is here: [] --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Smegolas (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Hiya, I'm not really sure what you're talking about. You have full permissions to edit the linked article, and even to move the article to a different name. What do you need permissions for? --SgtLion (talk) 06:53, 25 July 2016 (MDT)
Topic Limitation?
For some reason, each page will only display 500 topic links, which wouldn't a problem if there were also something that would let me move on to the next page. For example, the page " http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/All_Base_Classes " shows only the first 500 classes listed. This didn't use to be the case and there's no button or link that moves on to the next listing. Is it something on my end or is there something going on server-side? --Sage of Souls (talk) 16:23, 1 July 2016 (MDT)
- Bit of a late reply, sorry - But I'm not getting this issue. If you're still having this issue, let us know and I"ll get Blue Dragon to find out what's goin' down. --SgtLion (talk) 06:50, 25 July 2016 (MDT)
- You're fine. It does not appear to be doing it anymore. Thanks, though. --Sage of Souls (talk) 16:08, 25 July 2016 (MDT)
Template:Dragon Sigil
So, User:Dark Dragon has created Template:Dragon Sigil, a very loud declaration of authorship, which he puts at the tops of pages he has created. This template adds those pages to Category:Dark Dragon's Content. I was informed quite some time ago, during an experiment with creating categories, that author categories are not permitted on the wiki. I was going to inform him of this, but then I discovered that I could not actually find any policy against it! How can I justify a reprimand if our own policies are not available for users to read? Or have I just missed the relevant information? After reading Help talk:Standards and Formatting (DnD Guideline), I discovered that Template:Author was deleted, apparently along with all of its variations as nolonger being used for attribution, back in 2012. Was it displaced, or was it made againsty policy to have authorial attribution at all? In either case, these kinds of things must be written down and made publicly available to all users. Unwritten rules are an extremely unhealthy behavior for a community. It causes distrust and frustration. --Kydo (talk) 13:01, 18 September 2016 (MDT)
- What about {{WFRC Author}}? It still seems to exist, and is present on some pages- one of which is linked to as an example from one of our help pages. What differentiated it from {{author}}? Or any other attribution template? The "races compendium" series it refers to doesn't seem to have a page for itself anywhere on the wiki, aside from this template. If authorship and author categories, and other possessive behaviors of that sort are against policy, why do we link to an example of it from a help page? Very confusing for new users. Heck, it's confusing to me, and I've been an editor for, what, 2? 3 years? I'm not confused by authorship being downplayed- we're supposed to be collaborative after all. I am confused about why it has been so difficult for everyone who has ever used this wiki for the last decade to just say so. --Kydo (talk) 14:13, 19 September 2016 (MDT)
- Authorship as a concept has been deprecated on this wiki for some years, now, as it was preventing constructive editing. (That said, I don't know why GD didn't just delete that WFRC template.) We deeply discourage it, for the above reason, but as a formal rule it's not been implemented - Presumably because there are some entirely unknown circumstances in which establishing authorship is acceptable. We should discuss implementing an explicit policy for disallowing asserting author ownership as a rule, because to my knowledge, we've not allowed it since removing the author template. --SgtLion (talk) 15:57, 19 September 2016 (MDT)
- OK. Well, at least that confirms it. We should write that down if we're going to enforce it. I don't want to be the one going into that guy's talk page and telling him to take his flag down without something to justify it. This is a clear example of exactly why we need to have clear policies. He's clearly been editing here for a while. Had we communicated better, such a situation probably never would have happened. --Kydo (talk) 16:42, 19 September 2016 (MDT)
Classifieds
So, Help:Logging In mentions that we have a classifieds system, then says you need to ask admin for how it works. How does it work, and why can it not be explained on that page? --Kydo (talk) 14:29, 18 September 2016 (MDT)
- I'm assuming the classifieds system for indicating geographical location is like adding Category:United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to your user page. I don't know why it's not explained there, probably laziness. There's no real need to advertise it as a thing, to be honest. --SgtLion (talk) 15:57, 19 September 2016 (MDT)
- Well I think it's cool. I didn't even know about it until I read that page in detail for revision purposes! It didn't include the Canadian provinces though, so I added them. Canada is the second-largest country in the world, so it's kind of useful to be able to narrow it down a little bit. A guy from the Yukon isn't really gonna drive to game night at a Quebecer's house every saturday. (It's a 6 day drive at 110kmph) --Kydo (talk) 07:37, 20 September 2016 (MDT)

Units of measurement
Can I use the international system? I really do stick better with it. --Gatan (talk) 23:09, 9 April 2017 (UTC)
- The focus here is to make sure that your contributions fit into a normal D&D game. If you want to use the international system for a supplementary module then go ahead. --Green Dragon (talk) 15:49, 16 May 2017 (UTC)

Supersaix
I see user Supersaix on the admin page, but not the Requests for Adminship page. If this isn't a bug, should Supersaix be added to the RfA exceptions with BD and GD?--GamerAim (talk) 12:55, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
- Its a temporary right granted based on Talk:5e Races#5e Races Organization. If he does not start getting things done soon, the rights will be removed once again. --Green Dragon (talk) 14:22, 20 May 2017 (UTC)
IRR templates being removed
I would like to draw your attention to the page Castanic (5e Race). The race has a host of issues, all stemming from the fact that the race does not adhere to 5e standards or design philosophy whatsoever, and has a lot of spelling and grammar errors. I and another user put needsbalance and wording templates on the page, and they are repeatedly being removed by the original creator of the page without the issues being fixed. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 19:29, 7 July 2017 (MDT)
- Also see Dragon-Ogre (5e Race) which is facing similar issues. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 11:45, 9 July 2017 (MDT)
Slime People
I would like to direct your attention to the discussion on Talk:Slime People (5e Race). Before I touched the page, the race had a host of issues and a disclaimer that basically said "A Good DM…". An IP reverted to a previous edit that had the original problems, and became very possessive of "their" page (I assume it is the IP of the page's creator, NekoKawaii) and resistant to the page being edited. I have come here to seek assistance in resolving this dispute. I could just put on the admin hat myself, but I'm not really supposed to have admin privileges. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 19:24, 24 July 2017 (MDT)
- Thanks for this information. That's why this talk page is here --Green Dragon (talk) 00:38, 26 July 2017 (MDT)
Lusty Tentacles
Please direct your attention to the page Lusty Tentacles (3.5e Spell). There are two things wrong here:
1) It's tentacle rape. I didn't delete it outright because it is uncomfortably suggestive but not explicit, but it definitely needs looking at.
2) The OP of that page is User:Just another account. Judging by that name, they're probably ban evading.
— Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 09:41, 1 August 2017 (MDT)
- It's rather suspicious that as soon as User:Just another account created his account, he immediately uploaded the image tumbler2.jpg, a re-creation of the image tumbler.jpg, which got another account banned only a few minutes ago. 2602:306:3317:2900:F042:E3A2:E46D:DD3C
Super Hero
Please look into the page Super Hero (3.5e Class). There's an unacceptable amount of spelling and grammar errors on the page, as well as a lot of vague and otherwise incorrect terminology. I put a template on the page pointing that out, but OP immediately removed it without making any corrections. 2602:306:3317:2900:457D:7089:A1DE:3DB9 16:40, 5 August 2017 (MDT)
Pixie
An IP is continuing to make an unneeded buff to Pixie (5e Race): for some reason they really want to have Invisibility target more than one creature. I asked them on their talk page to stop because it makes the race unduly powerful, but rather than respond or otherwise act on my message responsibly, they continued to reinstate the buff with the added "bonus" of a "fuck you." — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 19:02, 11 August 2017 (MDT)
Removing Content from Pages
I would like to report the IP 108.5.149.149 for removing content from the talk page of Death Knight (5e Class): see this diff. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs) . . 19:22, 20 August 2017 (MDT)
Sosmunii Thickplate (3.5e Equipment) protection
Hi, a page I made called Sosmunii Thickplate (3.5e Equipment) was marked as protected by a bot because when I originally made it I used the source code from an SRD item and forgot to remove the SRD category. Could someone please un-protect it? It would be very appreciated. --Dark Dragon (talk) 23:43, 2 September 2017 (MDT)
- Yep, the bot has protected everything in the SRD Category. I've now changed the protection and removed the SRD category. No worries. --SgtLion (talk) 03:09, 3 September 2017 (MDT)
A New User
A new user has joined the site, with the username "Faggot". I believe this to be an unacceptable username, and have already asked him to make a new account with a different name, but I wanted to bring attention to this. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 15:57, 22 September 2017 (MDT)
Standard Ability Score Improvement 5e should be editable
hello, im a new to having an account and creating content on this wiki but have been looking at everything here for awhile. today i started to make homebrew class but noticed that the Ability score improvements are not able to be moved or taken out. i do understand that there is a typical standard for them, but if you look at UA artifier 5e its Ability score improvements are at 4,8,12,16, and 18 not 19. given that its UA probably just means its an exception, but when asked about this on sage advice Jeremy Crawford said "It filled a gap at 18. Nothing in our design mandates 19.
Ability score improvement question to and answered by Jeremy Crawford
doesnt that mean, even though there is a pattern, that the ability score improvements can be adjusted? (if this is the wrong place to ask or something sorry, im new and didnt know where else to ask.) also please let me know what you think about this and if it will change? --Lord4571 (talk) 21:09, 29 September 2017 (MDT)Lord4571
- Commenting to bring more attention to this. I think if something allowed the ASI to be adjusted then the 5e homebrew classes would be more a nightmare to balance but if the Lead Rules Designer says it, it is gold. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 14:24, 3 October 2017 (MDT)
5e Class Ghost Rider
I am looking for a mediator. Another user has taken my placing of a stub personally, IMO. I've left comments with my stub for reference but Azagoth doesn't seem that is good enough. My original reason for stubbing it is a FB user found the class and a community ripped it apart. I figured I'd stub and let the OP balance or try to fix while I worked on other things. It seems Azagoth only addresses what I comment and not the class as a whole. I think this would be a learning experience for both users, Azagoth and myself, so thanks for any help. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 18:04, 15 October 2017 (MDT)
- Thanks for bringing this to our attention. --Green Dragon (talk) 00:39, 16 October 2017 (MDT)
- Thanks for some additional clarifying in the talk discussion. I would like to request semi-protection for the page. Anon users continually remove the stub. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:23, 16 October 2017 (MDT)

I'd like to report a user
I'd like to report Davidadam for violating our behavioral policy. He has a link to a commerical website on his user page, which I believe is against our rule regarding soliciting. Quincy (talk) 09:54, 25 October 2017 (MDT)
- I'm not sure if that necessarily violates policy. Marasmusine has links to a couple of his Fiverr gigs on his page, though that may be acceptable because they're directly related to the wiki. But unless this user starts spamming, I don't see a need to deal with it. Of course, an actual admin may feel differently. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 10:33, 25 October 2017 (MDT)
- EDIT: I guess GD already dealt with this. 10:35, 25 October 2017 (MDT)

Working on the Class Page
Hello everyone, I'd like to add to your workload ^^
Would it be possible to create a section in the Home-brew 5e Classes page (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/5e_Classes) that would be the "Team Picks" ?
I'm basically asking you guys to select the top 10 or so classes you think are complete, stand apart from the classic SRD classes, actually more or less balanced, and look fun to play (in that order of importance).
Also I see a lot of classes based off Games or other fiction in the main list instead of being in the "Classes Based on Existing Fiction" list. On purpose ?
Thanks for you great work and for the existence of this website :) .
D.
07/11/2017
Edit : I just found the Featured Articles page (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Featured_Articles) so that half answers my curiosity as I see no 5e Classes and those are the one's I'm interested in ;) .
- The idea is not to make arbitrary selections, but rather work with all the pages. This way is fair, and it is not based on a team which would need to be maintained and developed. Please submit a few pages that you find excellent as featured article nominees! --Green Dragon (talk) 23:22, 7 November 2017 (MST)
“ | Also I see a lot of classes based off Games or other fiction in the main list instead of being in the "Classes Based on Existing Fiction" list. On purpose? | ” |
- We use Dynamic Page Lists (DPLs) to populate the race/class/etc lists, and the trigger for something to be put in the "Existing Fiction" list instead of the main list is for that page to be in Category:Derivative Work, which is usually accomplished by placing the {{Copyright Disclaimer}} template on the page in question. If you see a page based off of existing fiction that does not have that template on it, it would be much appreciated if you could place that template on the page in question. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 23:33, 7 November 2017 (MST)

World of Warcraft Undead
Posting here for widest assistance. I looked for something rated to the subject/headline and I’m empty handed. Does any admin know of a 5e version of a WoW undead race? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 09:56, 10 November 2017 (MST)
- How about Blood Elf, WoW (5e Race) and Death Knight, Variant (5e Class)? --Green Dragon (talk) 11:16, 10 November 2017 (MST)
- Player specifically wants the Undead one :/ but if I need something like this it’s great to know :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 11:21, 10 November 2017 (MST)
- I would just multiclass as a Death Knight, Variant (5e Class). Of course I know little about WoW. The Tavern is a good place to get this type of information. --Green Dragon (talk) 11:24, 10 November 2017 (MST)
- Just an update, I found something called "Forsaken" that was done up by someone elsewhere. My player said it'd work for him so all is well in that regard. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:45, 3 December 2017 (MST)

Am I out of line?
"This might just be me, so any admin please correct me, but "username", you have "x" pieces of incomplete, hard to read, unbalanced work. I can understand getting bored and working on something different to break up monotony but you're just pumping hard to read content into the site daily." I am wanting to address this but is it worth the time? Am I being rude by wiki standards? I'd add more but wanted to ask admin/wiki before going forward. What am I not considering? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 12:16, 14 December 2017 (MST)
- I am confused with your response. Could you please supply me with a link?
- Otherwise, you should not attack another user. This comment could be perceived as an attack. Its hard to know without the context, since it could also be constructive criticism about time per edit, with regard to a quantitative measurement. As I said, we need a context. --Green Dragon (talk) 14:10, 14 December 2017 (MST)
Problems when login in
Guys, when a try to login with my original account, Kalkaham, it redirects me to an error message page, since it's in portuguese, my natural language, I'll transcript the lines of the message:
Line 1: "This page is not working"
Line 2: "www.dandwiki.com can't answer (attend) this solicitation right now"
Line 3: "HTTP ERROR 500"
Blue Button: "Reload"
This mistake keeps happening every time I login with that account so I created this one just a sec ago to see if we could solve this.

Question regarding userpage content
I have a saved copy of a 5e class which was deleted because it didn't meet this site's standards for balance and quality of writing. Am I allowed to upload it verbatim as one of my userpages? And if I do so, can I reasonably expect that the page I create will not be edited or deleted? I know I'm encouraged to be creative with how I use my userpages, but still I'd like to ask. Quincy (talk) 17:38, 13 January 2018 (MST)
- Yes, of course. You may add any pages you want to have within your userspace. --Green Dragon (talk) 06:41, 14 January 2018 (MST)
