I have stumbled on this paged. I have been wanting to run a fallout game and I am colaborating with a few friends. I have some solid ideas and we have years of gaming experience. Everything is already here. I can fill in the blanks and fix some balance issues. Ghouls are close but need alittle work. Supermutants are close too. I have ideas on radiation. How it effects humans and ghouls alike. Also I have ocupations using the same system as d20m. For example a player may choose vault dweller or ncr recruit as a starting occupation. Each has its unique benifits and adds flare and substance. You have all the weapons and monsters. I will help u flesh them out. Together maybe we can save this page and future gms wanting to run a fallout game can come here and enjoy this setting. I'm still in the creation part so it may take a wile. But it will work.
- Can you elaborate on "needs work"? And there is already a wealth of occupations in the MSRD for characters to choose from, anymore would be redundant (NCR Recruit would just be the Military occupation) or to mary sue-ish (if the vault dweller is based off of the main characters from Fallout 1-3) --Wolfen 22:50, 23 March 2011 (MDT)

What few subpages this page has should also be deleted as well. They all consist of some improperly formatted and poorly balanced weapons, a bunch of red links, and a timeline which was just copied from another wiki. JazzMan 02:10, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- I know that I haven't made a great edit in quite a long while but I feel that my campaign should be left up for people to edit. My addition, the Fallout setting has come under an attack of sorts and I feel that more can be done with it, just because one user starts something doesn't mean others can help pitch in, I have helped edit a few pages, even added some weapons. - Wow it's not an attack, I just added at delete tag to start a discussion. There's no content and the two or three pages that are there are not very good. - The only thing that I need to have done is basic stats for weapons, vehicles, creatures, etc. I will, slowly but surely, put up descriptions of weapons, creatures and vehicles. Fallout Campaign Shouldnt be Deleted
I had not had the chance to edit the Fallout setting due to my lack of access to the internet for some time, and the reason there are many red links is because one person with little time can only do so much and what is done by others seems to be poor quality and when it comes to the timeline that I posted, I posted it in this wiki from The Vault wiki so people wouldnt have to change sites in order to follow the timeline if they chose to for their game. The Mighty Boosh.

Ok I have been working on a Fallout d20 Modern conversion in my spare time for my own use. I was posing my work on a d20 Modern forum and someone posted that there was a Fallout setting here a D&D wiki, I came and checked it out and all the categories are copypasta from The Vault (Fallout wiki) .

- Geeze that's no fun. I did a cursory look I don't see anything that's directly copy-pasted from The Vault, so we should be fine. If you do come across anything, though, we have to put it in our own words. There's definitely going to be a lot of cross-over, since both you and The Vault are basing everything the same thing.

I have a very "If it ain't broke don't fix it" approach to d20 design. It is much easier to take some that already exists in D&D or d20 Modern (and between the two there is not much that isn't) and alter it to fit the conversion that make something whole cloth and hope it's not broken. - I'd say barely, if at all. All you've done is added a couple of creatures and weapons, and your creatures aren't properly formatted (neither, for that matter, are most of the sub pages). There's still no background, character creation guide, campaign guide, environments, or adventures, which really are the most important part. I'd worry less about rating, which is really meaningless for the most part, and more about content. JazzMan 01:58, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

I just found this in formation just recently. We were looking for anyone who had maybe started something, based on fallout. My friends and myself are thinking about getting this wiki back into working order, and was wondering who would be able to help. I have lot's of 3.5 experience but little D20 modern or wiki site creation, so it will be a slow process.

- You are pretty much on your own in terms of eliciting help for actual page creation. There are lots of people around here who can help with wiki formatting, etc, but in terms of content this page has been derelict for a very long time. Creating Content
- I noticed a whole bunch of pages have been improperly created for this CS. All pages need to end in (Fallout Suppliment), as well as include the proper footers and categories, as described here. Using the "create new" dialogue (see here for the feat creation dialogue]]) will make this a whole lot easier for you. JazzMan 14:14, 3 March 2012 (MST)
Rating and Deletion
I'm adding back the deletion template, and here's why:
Here's the thing: this is in no way, shape, or form anywhere close to being considered complete. On the surface, it looks like there's a ton of stuff there: only 2 red links on the front page (15%)! Sure, from that standpoint it's probably a 4/5. But let's dig deeper. First of all, one of the red links is "guidelines", which is an absolutely integral part of the CS. Without this section, anyone who wants to use the CS has to make up a huge part of the rules themselves.
But let's dig even further: if you click on all the blue links on the top page, and then count up the red links on those sub-pages, you will find that 62% are blank. And if you click on the blue links on *those* pages, 97% are blank (it's actually much higher than that, even -- I only counted the weapons pages as sub-sub-pages, but there are a ton of redlinks in the copyvio timeline page as well). Overall, 78% of the content is missing from this CS, and that's assuming every red link has equal weight -- in reality, some of the blanks are more important than some of the existing content, so 78% should be considered the absolute minimum.
But let's dig even further: much of the content that does exist isn't very good at all. Let's go page by page:
- Equipment: these pages are actually in good shape, but these are the ones that are only 3% completed. Several of the equipment items mention addiction, but there are no rules for addiction. 4/5.
- Feats: again, 66% are blank. What are there are not terrible, except that most feats are completely useless without the rules that define them (healing rate, criticals, and so on). Seeing a theme here? 4/5.
- Races: while all races are accounted for, there are some issues with all of them as well. Few of them have any decent formatting (check out Robots (Fallout Supplement) for guidelines -- but even this one isn't perfect because it's built for 3.5e), and most have questionable mechanics of some sort. 3/5
- Character origins: I don't even know what these are supposed to be. Do they replace classes? Are they instead of classes? Most of them don't even have any rules, and the rest of them are just so terribly done that they are useless. 1/5
- Vehicles: there are only 2: one has questionable crunch and no fluff, the other has questionable fluff and no crunch. 2/5.
- Traits: again, the rules required to use these things are not there. None of them are particularly bad, but there are so few of them that I don't see the point. 3/5.
- History: This is simply a copyvio from Fallout Wiki. 0/5.
- Creatures: All but one (which I formatted myself) are improperly formatted -- by a former d20 Mod, no less -- despite repeated attempts on my part to get people to use the correct template. What creatures are there are rather boring and flavorless (figuratively and literally, as none of them have any fluff), and they again include mechanics that aren't explained. 2/5.
- Adventures: false alarm, these are all red links. 1/5.
- Environments: two of the three "blue" links are actually just placeholders, and the third is both not terribly useful and stolen from another wiki. The page is improperly formatted (no space in title and footers are missing), and the pages within are also improperly formatted. 0/5.
- Random encounters: red link. 1/5.
- Background: stolen 0/5.
- Guidelines: red link. 1/5.
I think it should be obvious from here that the number 1 priority since I first put this up for deletion over two-and-a-half years ago is also the only aspect which has had 0 progress: writing rules so that we can actually use this stuff. Let's face it, it's really easy to make up a bunch of weapons and feats, especially when much of the hard work has already been done elsewhere. The Campaign Setting is entirely useless, however, without any rules, guidelines, adventures, and so on. And seeing as how there hasn't been any progress in this direction thus far, I don't see there being any in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I suggest that the campaign setting be deleted and all its content (feats, weapons, and so on) be converted into generic content. If, at any time in the future, someone actually writes a Fallout Campaign Setting (as opposed to the Fallout Collection of Fallout-Themed Feats and Weapons that we have now), then we can move the content back under the CS heading. - You know what? I'll do it, it'll take some time. But I'll do the crunch(feats, races, equipment ect.) then get to the fluff(adventures, ect.). Healing Rate refers to the amount of HP you heal per 8 hour rest. The addiction rules can be taken from D&D and easily adapted to D20 Fallout. I'll get around to posting those rules sometime, too, I promise you that(I'll do it when I do equipment). I redid the traits, removing the links(because traits don't need sub-pages), and taking away unbalanced/fanon traits. I, too, hate that Robot page and will get around to doing that too. I'm going to redo Character Origins as occupations for Fallout. If you'd post the Creature template, I'd use it later. And did you not play with critical hits? - I somehow missed this edit, sorry about that. I do play with crits, but IIRC, the Fallout game doesn't handle them the exact same way as d20M (at least as far as you can tell without being able to see the actual rules of the Fallout game). The trait list is a good start. It is still missing some rules and could be formatted a little better (though off the top of my head, I'm not really sure of a better way to format it -- maybe an adaptation of the 3.5e trait template?), but it's worlds better than it was before. - It's been slowly chugging along for over THREE years. Unlike other CS's, though, the question is not will it ever get finished (because I believe it is), but when. We have to ask ourselves as a site, does any amount of progress, no matter how slow, save a page from deletion? Also, with the exception of Joba Tett, who, while he definitely ramped up his work after I added the tag, has been adding content slowly but surely for a while now, most of the work to this CS seems to come about when I add a deletion tag and users come out of the woodwork to "save" it, only to disappear again after I take the tag back off. - I'm not sure what your plan of action is, but if I may give you some advice: Concentrate on making a solid level 1 experience. Rather than trying to tackle all the feats, equipment, creatures and so on at once, leaving a lot of redlinks. If you can nail a core selection of low-level creatures, feats, equipment and game rules, with a good adventure - enough for someone to start playing it straight away - then I think that's enough of a stub. Equipment pricing

- I just started running my first Apocalypse game not too long ago, and let me tell you, TU's are weird. The book's explanation for how to find TU's for an item not listed is to find the closest item listed and then make up a TU price. I can make a stab at it for things like weapons, but I don't know how well I'll do on other things.
- One thing I just thought of: if you directly mapped TU's to bottle caps, then you wouldn't have to do a conversion. For instance, you can just say that 1 TU is 10 bottle caps. Then people used to using the TU system can really easily transfer into bottlecaps. JazzMan 16:13, 15 September 2012 (MDT)

Update
So, this is an update, in case anyone is reading. If you are reading, it might have been obvious that I took a break for awhile. Unlike my other breaks, this one wasn't because of life. It was because I messed up. I didn't exactly get in over my head, but I certainly strayed from my path. I began turning a d20 Modern sourcebook into a whole different system! Now, that by nature isn't bad, it's only bad when that's not your actual goal. So, all those overboard changes I made to the system will be removed, probably backed up into text files for archival purposes. I'll try to get that done in the next week or two. From there, I can continue work on doing what I started to do, and maybe get this thing done by the end of the year?
Hopefully. And it'll be easier if I'm not creating new rules systems, or trying to adjust the balance of the system. After all, GMs can make their own DCs for skills, ignoring the ones in the CRB if they need to. That said, I will probably leave some changes (such as chemical parts for crafting) and other little bits that don't change anything, but instead are small additions to support expanded mechanics, rather than revised mechanics.

- Character Creation and Crafting have been revised, along with numerous other changes. Occupations are now complete. New Alien race has been added. Added placeholders for new vehicles, which I probably won't get around to for awhile, but maybe I will. Next step, after finishing the vehicles placeholders, is probably to work on creatures. They have been in dire need of revision all around, in terms of both fluff and statistics. - So, creatures can't be finished before the equipment is (I mean I could mostly create the creatures but not entirely), so I am working on adding equipment placeholders. These will suffice for what I need them for: the revised random equipment tables. - Instead, I ended up working on equipment for real. The laser pistols and plasma pistols are done (at least I think they are) along with two other energy pistols. That's not a lot. I got caught up doing other things, including standardizing the weapon modifications. Not all of the weapon modifications are implemented yet (there's some red links on the page aside from modifications I haven't even added there yet), but that will most likely be the next step before I continue work on weapons. Beginning to see a pattern here? I did also redesign the robot race and added some special powers to some of the races (I got burnt out on working on races for now). On the bright side, there might actually be enough here to somewhat make a first-level character using campaign setting races, occupations, equipment, ect. I might try that today. - So, never got to making that character, or finishing the weapon mods. Gonna do weapon mods some other time. Maybe next time I go through doing lots at once? Anyway, small update for now. Haven't had much time to work on this, but I finished the rest of the energy handguns today! Most still need some work, like (re)writing fluff, balancing stats, and adding weapon mods (along with Jury Rigging types), but for today, they're done and usable as is. That's quite the accomplish meant, I think. I also think that the Sonic Emitter was the best done today and wasn't as hard to implement as I thought it would be, and was actually fun to do. Initial Field Testing → Completed (for now)! Also, a Question
I've finished rewriting the Initial Field Testing (Fallout Supplement) for the page. It provides a few new equipment ideas, as well as how the equipment can be tested and earned. I'll add specific statistics for equipment at a later point.
Also, I was curious as to when you would consider changing the rating to 4/5. We seem to have a pretty comprehensive set of equipment, statistics and storyline set up write now. It's not perfect, but its not "sparse in most categories".
Faction Proposals
Before I added these faction, I wanted to make sure no one thinks they're out of line with the rest of the setting.
- The Terran Starship Command
- Based on the Mothership Zeta Crew mod for Fallout 3, it adds a new group based on an orbiting spaceship. While they have vastly superior technology, most of it is locked up in a spacecraft that doesn't work. Their main goal is to repair the spacecraft, and begin exploring the stars
- The Puritans
- Essentially a rebranding of the Capital Wasteland's Brotherhood of Steel. Having aligned themselves completely behind Elder Lyons' desire to eschew the Brotherhood's xenophobia and help the local wastelanders, they have named themselves after their greatest asset: the Project Purity Water Purifier, which is capable of supplying thousands with fresh, clean water.
I won't add these for a couple weeks, but I will be developing them personally in the meantime. If I don't hear any disapproval in the mean time, then I'm going to go ahead and add them.

Anyways i've gotten pretty good at stating things out and have a couple people with me who are interested in working on this supplement to help other players and dungeon masters ( overseers).
Requested Features For The Next Update
I noticed that there are fewer updates on this page for Fallout d20. I would love to suggest a few additions to the game for further development. To appeal to fans of Fallout 3 onward, I suggest that Feats should be given a second name "Perks", so that fewer people would be confused and believe the feature is absent. I noticed that the synth race is currently excluded from the race list. It would be wise to add that to increase the decisions on character creation. We may need more factions like the one's introduced in Fallout 4. These include the Minutemen, the Railroad, and the Institute. EDIT: I apologize for misconceiving Perks to be excluded. I was expecting them to be in the same page as Traits, and I forgot to read the Feats page. I also saw that some of the feats are not perks, but statuses such as addictions. So I recommend editing the page to reorganize and separate the two of them.
- First of all, I apologize for the lack of updates, but I tend to work on this in spurts with year-long absences in between sometimes. I like to think I'll finish it some day. Second of all, due to my intense dislike of Fallout 4, I will not personally be adding any Fallout 4 content. Of course, anyone else who wants to do so can, so long as they don't replace any content I've already done with retconned newer versions (adding FO4-specific information to such pages is fine as long as the older stuff isn't removed). Third, this campaign setting has suffered from, well, a lack of direction in the past that has hindered my progress (since I might spend months working on things I then decide to remove), and is the primary reason I stopped editing. This isn't helped by the fact that anyone can edit my work, potentially creating inconsistencies among it; however, that being part of the collaborative nature of this site, I cannot object. Fourth, I'm working on any unrelated commercial project right now, but I hope to find more time to contribute to this campaign setting in an appropriate form. Finally, I simply compiled a list of "perks" from Fallout 1/2 (and maybe Tactics, 3 and NV) and addiction was technically a perk. Goodbye
I've done some other minor work on this wiki, but for the most part I've worked on this campaign setting on and off for four or so years, and I've had a pretty good time of it. So I'm writing this here: Coming back, I'm realizing that I can't do this. While I love the idea of D&D Wiki and free collaborative creation, this campaign setting has mostly been my domain for the past few years, aside from some help from Yossarian (whose campaign setting was an offshoot of this and then merged back). I can't be gone for a year and come back to find the only contributions are poorly formatted; I get that everyone has good intentions and that my work was far from perfect, but most of the edits people have made have either been either minor or detrimental or both. I'm not going to work on a project that might never be complete in an environment where anyone with a better internet connection than understanding of format or the rules can undo what work I've managed to accomplish and be unable to track the damage whenever life happens and I'm gone for a year.
If there were anyone else contributing in a meaningful and consistent fashion, I'd stay and work with them because I'd like nothing more than to work on this with someone else; however, that isn't the case, so I'm moving it to . I don't know how long it'll take, but I'll update when I'm done and I hope that if the mods plan on finally deleting this campaign setting (which I got them not to do years ago), they do it until I'm done (otherwise it'll be a pain finding all the pages). I'm doing this so that I can protect my pages and delete and ban others at will while I work on it. If anyone else is interested in working on it, let me know here or over there, but I feel this is the only way to keep the quality of it from dropping. Anyone is free to copy what I write over there to here if they are so inclined.
Again, this is nothing against D&D Wiki, but rather the realities of what I'm putting into it not being worth what I'm getting out of it. I wish I could have been more active and had it done by now and that I'd done a better job on what I leave behind. There simply isn't any meaningful collaboration going on this. - I'm very sorry the experience has not been positive. We are working on building the community right now. There's a big effort between the entire administrative team to address the primary issues which impede active membership. (Active membership is essential, as the wiki's quality management system is based on self-regulation. This can't happen without a large community of active users.) - The experience actually has been positive, but I'm realizing how difficult it is to maintain enough creative control to maintain consistency across a supplement. If I were just making a few things here and there, it'd be fine, but this environment isn't conducive to something this large, especially since I can't dedicate most of my time to it. Again, if there were any other active (or semi-active, like me) users working on this, I'd stay, but as far as I can tell, 95%+ of the edits are detrimental, but I can't very well tell anyone else that they're wrong because I'm inactive for long periods of time and it's not my wiki. I don't really have any particular plans to stay, since I don't actually do much homebrew in general (this being the one exception), but I may poke my head in once in awhile to see if anything catches my eye that could use some formatting or whatever. Again, I do love the wiki, regardless of my choice to move my work elsewhere :)
- Yes. Simply providing a link to GNU Free Documentation License 1.3 and the history page with a timestamp for the source version of the redistributed content will cover the bases. That way, changes to eitehr version won't cause the redistributed version to become a violation, because only the original posting is a redistribution of a static version of the original. You could also link to another digital copy of the GFDL on the internet and just list off the usernames of the contributors from here with a timestamp. - However, if I'm not mistaken, I'm not bound by that if I only copy my own content. While I am totally cool with everything I write here and over there being released under the GFDL (go wild with it, just give me credit) and know that it will always be released under the GFDL, I don't believe I am legally obligated to follow the terms of the GFDL if the content I am distributing is solely my own (which everything I've copied so far is).--GamerAim (talk) 17:18, 22 October 2016 (MDT)
Deletion (Again)
Yep, it's me who added the deletion template. It was here that it began, and it was here it would've ended had Kydo not intervened, and now that I'm an admin, I'm making it a candidate for deletion? The truth is, I tried to deny it but this campaign setting has stalled, and therein lies the problem pointed out on this talk page before: it goes through a cycle of moderate activity and then inactivity. I like to think I did some good here, but it's just too big a task for me to complete on my own and I don't think it'll ever be finished, so I propose the setting be deleted. I'm sorry to all those I told I'd complete it, but I don't believe I have the time to put into the monumental task of creating a whole slew of worthwhile pages that take full advantage of the d20 Modern system while remaining faithful to the source material. Please Don't delete the Fallout supplement
Hello! I'm Jonathan or Jon and I really really hope that you don't delete this supplement. my friends and I started a fallout themed Dungeons and Dragons game based off this supplement, with me DMing. It took time and the rules needed to be bent and changed to fit the game style of D&D, without all the things that aren't used in D&D 5e but this is amazing for the purposes of our game, the players love it and I love the advice and information it gave to to be able to do this amazing fallout game. If you wish to not contribute to the rules and the supplement itself them I would gladly like to take a shot at fixing this thing up with me and my friends who all help chip in on the actual game itself.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by KillshotJona (talk • contribs) . Deletion Proposal
This continues to be the article proposed for deletion for the longest time, and it's finally on my nerves for long enough. As per above comments, and looking at the setting, it seems to me like this shouldn't be proposed for deletion. Though it's incomplete, it's certainly playable, and the meaningful amount of content here is high quality. To delete any part of it seems like a waste of good content, and I see little point in splitting them all into their own articles. I realise the motivations and work behind this article has been a bit complex, but if we're still not comfortable un-proposing this for deletion, I'm willing to put in any required work to keep it here and in one piece. --SgtLion (talk) 03:09, 13 December 2017 (MST)
