Soulshaper

A Soulshaper taps into the energy that is inherently within every individual through the power provided by cora stones. She is able to unblock latent energy and allow it to flow freely within herself and others. This latent energy manifests itself in soulmelds, chakra binds, and invocations.

Making a Soulshaper

Abilities: Charisma is important because it determines the level of Invocations a soulshaper can cast, and makes them harder to resist. A high Constitution is important as it determines the number of soulmelds she can shape per day, and how long her abilities last.

Races: Any.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Soulshaper.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Soulshapers are proficient with light armors. They are proficient with Basic Weapons, Maces and Clubs, and Crossbows.

Stone Attunement: You gain the ability to attune to a Cora Stone. Attuning to a Cora stone takes 2 hours of meditation without interruption, once you are attuned to a stone you stay attuned to it until it is taken more than 1 mile from your current location, or you go without it for 8 hours. You may remove the attunement from a cora stone by meditating for 1 hour. You may never attune to a stone that someone is already attuned to.

At 4th level you gain the associated ability listed with any stone you are currently attuned to, if you remove an attunement you lose the associated ability.

Meldshaping (Su): A soulshaper's primary ability is shaping incarnum soulmelds, which are drawn from the soulshaper soulmeld list below. You know and can shape any soulmeld from this list. The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a soulshaper's soulmeld is 10 + number of points of essentia invested in the soulmeld + your Constitution modifier. Your meldshaper level is equal to your soulshaper level. A soulshaper can shape only a certain number of soulmelds per day. Your base daily allotment is given on the table above. The maximum number of soulmelds that you can have shaped simultaneously is equal to your Constitution score minus 10 or the number of soulmelds on the table, whichever is lower. At 1st level, you can shape two soulmelds at a time (assuming you have a Constitution score of at least 12). As you advance in level, you can shape an increasing number of soulmelds. At 1st level, you also gain access to your personal pool of essentia, which can be invested into your soulmelds to increase their power. You essentia pool's size is shown on the table above. The maximum essentia you can invest in any soulmeld begins at 1 at 1st level, and increases to 2 at 6th. Some abilities may increase or decrease this amount. As a swift action, you can reallocate your essentia investments in your soulmelds. A soulshaper does not study or prepare soulmelds in advance, but must have a good night's rest and must meditate for 1 hour to shape her soulmelds for the day.

Crown beast tamer circlet, diadem of purelight, frost helm, hunter's circlet, soulspeaker circlet, threefold mask of the chimera
Feet cerulean sandals, dread carapace, impulse boots, landshark boots, totem avatar, urskan greaves, word pelt
Hands bloodtalons, rageclaws, sighting gloves, worg pelt
Other ankheg breastplate, blink shirt, basilisk mask, displacer mantle, lamia belt, shadow mantle, wormtail belt

Share Soulmeld (Su): As a swift action, a soulshaper may unshape any soulmeld she has active on herself. She then designates 1 ally within 30 ft to gain this soulmeld, assuming they do not have a soulmeld already shaped in the same slot. The ally gains the benefit of this soulmeld for 3 + Constitution Modifier rounds. After the duration is up, the soulmeld reshapes on the Soulshaper. The essentia invested cannot be changed by the new target, and the soulshaper can reallocate essentia as he sees fit, as normal. Essentially, the soulmeld functions as if it were still shaped on the soulshaper, except any benefit is instead gained by his ally. A soulshaper may use this ability 3 + Constitution Modifier + Class Level.

At level 3, when a soulshaper uses her share soulmeld ability she may instead share the meld with 2 up to allies. The targets must be no farther than 30 feet apart.

At level 4, the soulshaper may share a chakra bind with a single ally, however there can be no magical item on the body slot the chakra bind occupies. The soulshaper can only share a soulmeld which is bound to her crown, feat, or hands chakra.

At level 5, when a soulshaper uses her share soulmeld ability she may instead share the meld with up to 3 allies The targets must be no further than 30 feet apart.

At level 6, when a soulshaper uses her share soulmeld ability she does not unshape the soulmeld. However, if she uses the share bind ability, the chakra bind is removed but the soulmeld is still shaped for its normal duration.

At level 7, when a soulshaper uses her share soulmeld ability she may instead share it with up to 4 allies. The targets must be no further than 30 feet apart.

At level 8, when a soulshaper shares a chakra bind, she may choose to instead share a cora bind.

Invocations (Sp): A soulshaper also gains the ability to cast invocations. A soulshaper may use any invocation she knows at will, with the following qualifications: A soulshaper's invocations are spell-like abilities; using an invocation is a standard action which provokes attacks of opportunity. An invocation can be disrupted, just like a spell can be ruined. A soulshaper is allowed to make a Concentration check to successfully use an invocation if she is hit by an attack while invoking, just as a spellcaster would. A soulshaper can choose to use an invocation defensively, by making a successful Concentration check, to avoid provoking attacks of opportunity. A soulshaper's invocations are subject to spell resistance unless an invocation's description specifically states otherwise. A soulshaper's caster level with her invocations is equal to her soulshaper level. The save DC for an invocation is 10 + equivalent spell level + Charisma modifer. Since invocations are not spell, a soulshaper cannot benefit from metamagic feats or the Spell Focus feat. Although, the soulshaper does qualify for such feats as Ability Focus, and Quicken Spell-Like Ability. Anytime a soulshaper learns a new invocation she can replace an invocation she already knows with another invocation of the same or lower grade. A soulshaper may learn any invocation from the Soulshaper's Invocation list below.

Least beguiling influence, breath of the night, darkness, devil's sight, leaps and bounds, see the unseen, spiderwalk
Lesser charm, the dead walk, fell flight, flee the scene, voracious dispelling, walk unseen

Chakra Binds (Su): Beginning at 2nd level a soulshaper can bind her soulmelds to her chakras granting new powers based on the soulmeld and the chakra chosen. Binding a soulmeld to a chakra closes the body slot associated with that chakra so that you cannot also benefit from a magic item worn on the body slot associated with that chakra. The number of chakra binds that you can have active at any one time depends on your level (See the Chakra Bind column on the table above).

At 2nd level a soulshaper may bind a soulmeld to her cora stone chakra. This functions almost identically to the totemist's totem chakra bind. The chakra is not associated with any location on the body, but rather to a cora stone that the soulshaper is attuned to. If the soulshaper ever becomes unattuned to the cora stone she loses the benefits of the chakra bind. A soulshaper may only bind herself to one cora stone chakra at a time, even if she is attuned to multiple cora stones, she may still only use one as a chakra bind.

At 5th level a soulshaper can bind soulmelds to her crown, feet, or hands chakra.

Share Invocation (Su): At level 3, much like share soulmeld, a soulshaper can choose to transfer the benefits of any least invocation with a range of personal to an ally within 30'. Doing this increases the invoking time to a full round. This transfer lasts a number of rounds equal to your soulshaper level. The soulshaper cannot invoke the shared invocation again until the duration of this ability expires.

At 5th level a soulshaper retains the benefit of the invocation.

At 8th level a soulshaper gains the ability to share a lesser invocation, rather than just a least, with a single ally.
