This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Incomplete. This really needs to be fleshed out because as of right now it lacks any substantial Fluff. While it can be regarded by some as useless information it has a significant impact on how your content is used by players. Consult the 5e Race Design Guide for help.

This page is of questionable balance. Reason: This race seems overpowered compared to similar first-party races and would benefit from having less powerful and complicated traits; try comparing them to some of the PHB races. There have been at least three races on the wiki that try to copy the protagonist from that slime anime (who is a busted beyond overpowered Gary Stu) which I recommend you give a look over to see if they hit the nail that you're trying to meet. See Mimic Slime (5e Race) and give the 5e_Ooze_Races section a browse as many of the issues with ooze-like races are tackled and discussed in sometimes interesting ways.

Slime Reincarnate

Slime Reincarnates are fragile blobs with great potential. Born from the dying thoughts of a human from another reality.

Note: This is a race/class combo. It can not multiclass because of this. Also not a good idea for a jump in character. Definitely recommend that a story be written around it.

Physical Description

Slime Reincarnates are composed of a gelatinous acidic substance that is about the size of a soccer ball. They can emit any color of the rainbow based on what they have consumed a good bit. Younger Slime Reincarnates use this to blend into their surroundings to hide. Most have a keen intellect which helps them when they get the ability to transform into something larger. Slime Reincarnates grow up to small or medium size depending on what they consume.Slime Reincarnates do not usually grow bigger than medium because it would be too difficult to stay hydrated and retain that size. Some have been known to pull off bigger sizes if only temporarily. Indentations where the facial features would be serve as its face. Its stomach has 2 areas cut off from each other entirely. One is for devouring prey and the other is for storage. The storage stomach keeps items dry and safe from jostling.

History

Slime Reincarnates are an unprecedented event in the world and therefore do not have a written history. Their origin is the dying wishes of a human transported across realities to form the Slime Reincarnate.

Society

There is not much to say on Slime Reincarnate society. They are rare and do not meet often.

Slime Reincarnate Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and one other score increases by 1.
Age. Slime Reincarnates do not have a known limit to how long they can live. Because of their adaptive abilities most end up living thousands of years or longer.
Alignment. Slime Reincarnates usually have a good or neutral alignment. Very rarely are they chaotic to start in their new bodies. These are still people from our reality so they will want to follow laws and get along with who they can at first. As time goes on, expect alignments to shift.
Size. Slime Reincarnates enter the new world a small glob approximately the size of a soccer ball. They are initially Tiny sized. They can and will steadily grow up to a Medium size. They can only go above this temporarily with specific actions or spells.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 15 feet. This speed, like size, will increase as the Slime Reincarnate grows in size and level.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Acidic. You have resistance to acid damage.
Fluidity. Typical restraints can't hold you. While you are conscious you may slide out of any manacle, rope, or restraints. You can also move through a space as narrow as 1 inch without squeezing
Adhesive. Slime Reincarnate, being creatures of gelatinous slime you are naturally sticky. You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks made to grapple a target. In addition, you can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Corrosive Form. A Slime Reincarnate is naturally corrosive, as such, contact with a Slime Reincarnate will cause 1d4 acid damage.
Heat Exhaustion. You are composed of a large amount of liquid and as such, you fare poorly in hot environments. Deserts start to drain hit points without water. (1d4 per hour, not healable by normal means) You have disadvantage on saving throws against Extreme Heat.
Cytolysis. If the Slime Reincarnate falls into a large enough body of water for an extended period of time (2 minutes) they will start to lose hit points. (1d4 per 15 second turn)
Oozy Nature. Your creature type is ooze. You don't require sleep and by moving across surfaces you can break down otherwise inedible substances to garner nutritional value.
Shapely. You can form the shape of anything you have seen or consumed. Until you have consumed or seen a large number of a specific creature you will be translucent like your slime body
Growing Up In a New World. Slime Reincarnates start out as the Tiny size and grow their way up to Medium by consuming creatures and some non living items. (A player should consult with their GM for how to proceed based on the campaign being run. Some background behind how and where the Slime Reincarnate grew up would be necessary.)
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common. You gain languages as you consume the creatures that know them.

gollark: I've managed to at least sort of work around the problem in a way which will inevitably break later, so yay.
gollark: ```luaif package and not package.preload then package.preload = {} endfunction simple_require(package) if package.preload[package] then return package.preload[package] end [other stuff]end```does this:I have no idea *what's* going on at this point.
gollark: Really? Interesting. Do you need some unreasonably gigantic regex for it? Or did I foolishly invite this by saying "regex" instead of "pattern"?
gollark: Or non-X-HTML.
gollark: Regexes CANNOT parse XHTML.
