Grappler. The shadow guardian has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.

Living Shadow. At the start of each of its turns, the shadow guardian takes 4 (1d8) radiant damage if it is in direct sunlight.

Shadow Form. The shadow guardian can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The shadow guardian makes three attacks: two with its claw, and one with its negative burst.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage.

Negative Burst. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) necrotic damage and the target's Strength and Constitution scores are reduced by 1d4. The target dies if this reduces either score to 0. Otherwise, the reduction lasts until the target finishes a short or long rest. If a humanoid dies from this attack, a shadow rises from the corpse within the next hour.

The shadow guardian is a creature summoned from Shadowfell, usually to perform the function of a sentry. They are not undead, though commonly mistaken to be one. Their bodies have essence of shadowstuff, which coalesces in the form of armor. Despite this appearance, they remain wholly amorphous, able to dissolve into darkness on a whim to evade attacks and slip under doors. Like a normal shadow, they can drain the life and fight out of those who oppose them. However, they are not evil. Rather, they see all life and light as something unnatural. They therefore end up serving under many nefarious purposes.

gollark: <@&198138780132179968> Wyatt's reminded me that they have a house in Chorus City on one of their accounts (at 3974 48 -2829) and I was wondering what could be done with it, since they're banned (possibly permanently?).
gollark: Wait, what?
gollark: Cool Chorus City picture.
gollark: > a ton
gollark: Griefing? That's probably it.
