Manufactured by UAC Advanced Weapons, this energy weapon fires balls of superheated plasma. Although the plasma deals lethal damage at close to mid-range, it has a low muzzle velocity and performs poorly at long range.

Ammunition

The plasma gun uses UAC energy pack for ammunition.

Burst fire

You can make a normal single-target attack with the plasma gun, or you can spray a 10-foot-cube area within normal range. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take the weapon's normal damage. This action uses ten pieces of ammunition.

Alt-fire

To be able to use this weapon property you must choose this weapon when you gain a weapon alt-fire class feature.

Normally a plasma gun vents excess heat as it fires. You can instead have the plasma gun retain the heat to be vented forwards at your discretion. After you have expended at least 10 rounds of ammunition since you last reloaded or used this alt-fire mode, you can use your attack action to project a 15 ft cone of superheated air. Creatures in the cone must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. The target takes 2d10 fire damage on a failed saving throw or half as much on a successful one.
