There was once an Eladrin Archmage named Aranil who yielded the power of a demigod. He had many magic items and magic, but still could not escape his mortality. His friend, who was slightly evil, suggested that he become a Lich. He said no, but later on, Aranil was dared to pull a card from a Deck of Many Things. He accepted, but his card changed his alignment, making him a force of evil. He finally became a Lich, getting the information from his friend, and the only person who still stayed by his side after becoming a Lich. His friend would later become his main Lieutenant and become a Death Knight. And finally, Aranil suffused himself with darkness, going to the Shadowfell to do so, and renaming himself. As of late, he has possessed countless undead and demons, and using death tyrants to get even more. He even possessed a quite a few Lich, giving him the title of Lich King. He currently controls a total of about 20,000 directly possessed undead and demons, but his entire kingdom has over one million total undead and demon forces. He appears as a stark white elf with short, choppy hair and pure black eyes with black smoke coming out of them, and more of it surrounding him. He has the Book of Vile Darkness, a Staff of The Magi, and a black Robe of The Magi, which can hold spare souls. His phylactery is an obsidian box that can only be destroyed by the Wish property from the Eye and Hand of Vecna, who must succeed on a DC 30 Intelligence check, or the Wish spell will simply fail and be wasted. Only Nihilator knows where his own phylactery is.
