Nightcap of Restfulness (5e Equipment)

Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement by a creature that can sleep)

This nightcap is made out of soft, blue fabric with small golden star designs adorning its surface. A band of silver cloth encircles the brim, which bears a green gem.

This nightcap can be attuned to by wearing it as part of a 1-hour ritual before going to sleep. The attunement ends when the cap or removed or when the creature wakes up. You cannot be attuned to more that one nightcap at a time.

The nightcap soothes a creature's rest and provides them with pleasant and relaxing dreams. If you finish a long rest having slept at least 6 hours, you awake feeling very well-rested, gaining the following benefits alongside any others you would have from completing a long rest:

  • All of your spent hit dice are recovered instead of half.
  • If you are suffering from more than one level of exhaustion, you lose an additional level of exhaustion.
  • You are granted the ability to reroll one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw that you make in-between the time it takes for you to finish another long rest.
