Illumination. The magtail sheds bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet.

Spider Climb. The magtail can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Weak Point. A magtail's defense mechanism activates automatically when its single eye is struck. Any called shot against its eye that inflicts piercing or slashing damage causes the magtail to instantly curl up, stunning it until the end of its next turn. If the magtail is subjected to fire damage, this stunning ends immediately.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 1 fire damage.

Source

Taking the form of a single-eyed centipede the size of a pony, a magtail attacks with a giant pair of scissor-like mandibles. Carnivorous by nature, it strikes upon virtually anything that moves too close. A magtail is nourished in part by heat, and consequently is most often found near magma or other areas of extremely high temperatures. The black-and-orange body of a magtail visibly glows red with the sheer heat coursing beneath its exoskeleton.
