Ala'i means "awake" in the tongue of the firenewts. This fearsome salamander is a wise and cunning priest of Kossuth. Upon being trapped in Bezmadan's bowels, he rose to prominence among the other fiery creatures who were stranded from their original home. With his leadership over the salamaders and firenewts, he subjugated the reluctant azers to amass enough force to conquer the depths of the forge in search of materials with which they plan to build a gate back to their home plane. Unlike the typical salamander, Ala'i is not all evil. However, he can be very persuasive with words to get what he wants, and when the chips are down, few methods are beneath him. He can be cordial one moment and suddenly belligerent if he takes offense, making him a deadly foe when insulted. |
