Found primarily in arctic locales and frigid ruins, this roughly spherical creature is recognizable by its pale blue-and-violet coloration, and possesses a sleek but faceless body not unlike that of an upturned squid. It flies quietly and mysteriously through the air via magical means. When it senses a creature, seemingly any creature, the keeleon suddenly and frantically attacks it with explosives it spits from its tentacle-like mandibles. The creature's motivations, survival, and purpose are beyond knowing. No beings have been able to study it, for the keeleon zealously attacks everything—even other keeleons—until it or its opposition dies. Indeed, it is an embodiment of pure chaos, and seems to only survive with mysterious and magical means. |
Variant: Fire Keeleon
Although these variants are less common, keeleons are known to adapt to volcanic climates. These yellow-colored keeleons are literally on fire with magical flame, but never consumed by it. A fire keeleon has immunity to fire damage. A fire keeleon's Slam attack and Bomb actions both inflict an additional 7 (2d6) fire damage. It also gains the following trait: Heated Body. A creature that touches the keeleon or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of the keeleon takes 7 (2d6) fire damage. This variant has a Challenge Rating of 6 (2,300 XP). |
