Grum's Spectral Melee Weapon (5e Spell)

An object in your hand is exchanged with a spectral melee weapon of your choice that you are proficient with from the Ethereal Plane. You make melee attacks with this weapon with your spell attack modifier.

1st-level Conjuration
Casting time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: S, M (Any object in hand)
Duration: 1 minute

On a hit, the target takes 1d6 Necrotic damage and the weapon is considered magical.

The spell ends if it is cast again or if the weapon is dropped. The spell will not function on the Ethereal Plane or the Deep Ethereal, if the spell is cast there the spell slot is lost and it does nothing.

When the spell ends the object is returned to your hand. If that hand is full, it drops instead.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher you add 1d6 necrotic damage to any hit, and 1d6 necrotic for every two more spell slot levels above 3rd.
