Draconic Drift (Recharges After Short Rest or Long Rest). As a bonus action, the ascendant sprouts a pair of red, spectral dragon wings from its back for 1 minute. While the ascendant has wings, its jump distance is doubled, and it is always under the effect of the feather fall spell. It cannot fly with its wings, unless it gains a flying speed with other means.

Pact Magic. The ascendant is a 13th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). The fanatic knows the following warlock spells:

Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, mage hand, minor illusion, prestidigitation
1st-5th level (3 5th-level slots): banishment, blight, chromatic orb, counterspell, dominate beast, dominate person, enthrall, fear, hellish rebuke, hold monster, protection from energy, shatter

Mystic Arcanum (Recharges After Long Rest). The ascendant can cast flesh to stone once, without expending a spell slot.

Eldritch Invocations. The ascendant knows six invocations from the warlock class. An average ascendant knows, but not limited to: Agonizing Blast, Beguiling Influence, Eyes of the Rune Keeper, Mask of Many Faces, Sign of Ill Omen, Witch Sight.

Draconic Affinity. Whenever the ascendant makes a Charisma check when interacting with dragons, its proficiency bonus is doubled if it applies to the check.

Draconic Resilience (Recharges After Long Rest). When the ascendant fail a saving throw, it can choose to reroll it. If it does so, it must use the new roll.

ACTIONS

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6). The ascendant exhales fire in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw, taking 56 (16d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Eldritch Breath. The ascendant expends one spell slot to emulate Ghyreth's breath weapon. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 35 (10d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Among the fanatics of Ghyreth cult are the strongest, the brightest, and the craziest personnel who is more than willing to serve the ambition red dragon, even at the cost of part of what makes them an individual. Impressed at their loyalty (or stupidity, depending on his perspective), Ghyreth grants them a small portion of his might, concocted through a cryptic and blasphemous ritual involving his own blood. The very smell of the elixir can knock more than a wimpy individual unconscious; it takes more than a gut to drink the entire vial, and even moreso to survive the following sequence of draconic magic twisting and transmogrifying the mortal body.

Now half-dragon, half-fanatic, and all-terrifying, the ascendants of Ghyreth cult guards their "god" personally, posing as one of the most dreaded to those who oppose the reign of the Rightful Dominator of Nine Worlds.

gollark: Healthcare costs are something like 10% of US GDP, so it would probably require quite a lot of income tax.
gollark: Those are just subsidies but more convoluted and accountant-requiring.
gollark: Oh, and also eliminate all tax deductions and whatever.
gollark: But the discretized bracket thing is just nonsense.
gollark: I think I tried designing some a few times.
