ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (4d8 + 4) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the python can't bite another target.

Swallow. The python makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the python, and it takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the python's turns. The python can have only one target swallowed at a time.
If the python dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone.

A colossal eel only found in ocean depths, a deep python (or "sea snake") can be dozens if not hundreds of feet long. Despite its immense size, its dark coloration is an almost a perfect match to the murky waters and dark stone in which it typically inhabitsmaking it difficult to notice even when it is in plain sight.

Ambush Predator. A deep python uses its subdued coloration to its advantage when hunting. One often hides under mountains of sand or inside stone tunnels, only to dart out and crush prey in powerful bird-like beaks capable of tearing apart galleons. Their beaks and entire faces are as hard as steel, but their gills are remarkably fragile. These monsters are known to hunt in open waters where their gills are more exposed, but only do so when food is otherwise scarce.

gollark: I wonder how many dark gods I'll end up invoking if I try and patch this *myself*.
gollark: Firefox actually supports HTTP/3 if you enable seeecret config options.
gollark: Due to current limitations of the highly experimental nginx build I use, I can't offer HTTP/3 on any osmarks.net subdomains.
gollark: Yes.
gollark: It's *basically* just HTTP/2 over QUIC.
