A buckler is a small metal shield held in a fist grip. As it is not strapped, it can be donned or doffed as easily as drawing or stowing a weapon. While wielding this buckler, your Armor Class increases by 2 against melee weapon attacks, but increases only by 1 otherwise.
You can only benefit from one shield at a time.

gollark: It doesn't really do that very well, though. People can still incubate-and-hatch for you, etc.
gollark: Only if you incubate it. The incubation reverts when it's teleported, weirdly.
