Cylinder
A cylinder, as it applies to Life, usually refers to a semi-infinite Life universe that takes the form of a strip n cells wide (or high) and infinitely long. It may be visualized as a cylinder of circumference n, gotten by taking opposite edges of the strip as neighbors. It is the structure on which second stage de Bruijn diagrams are defined. X acts as a torus, whereas Y acts as a plane.
