Blom
Blom is a methuselah with a lifespan of 23314 generations that was found by Dean Hickerson in July 2002. It stabilizes with 2740 cells. The left half is a three generation predecessor of generation one of the B-heptomino while the right half is a 4 generation predecessor of the Stairstep hexomino.

In March and April 2017, Simon Ekström identified variants with a smaller bounding box, lower population and higher lifespan respectively,[1] as well as a 35-generation predecessor[2] and a 15×2 variant.[3]
Stable pattern
The stable pattern that results from Blom (excluding 52 escaping gliders) has 2480 cells and consists of 220 blinkers (including 21 traffic lights), 166 blocks, 110 beehives (including five honey farms), 26 loaves, 19 boats, 13 ships, six ponds, four tubs, three toads, two long boats, two ship-ties in the form of a fleet, one eater 1, and one half-bakery.
