War of the Spider Queen/Heartwarming

• Ryld talking to an unconscious Pharaun in the first book about their various victories and adventures together to pass the time waiting for him to wake up. It's strangely heartwarming to see two Drow who while still both chaotic and lawful evil have quite the pragmatic but strong friendship. Of course, this is ruined by Pharaun's utter abandonment of Ryld in the next chapter.

• Ryld and Halisstara's time spent on the surface among the Elistraee elves and how they end up bonding with and accepting her as one of them. Like the above example it doesn't last.
