The Clique/YMMV
- Alternate Character Interpretation: Is Massie a sociopath or somebody who acts cool and distant due to her relationship with her parents?
- Is Alicia a horrible person who doesn't understand friendship or somebody who has been overshadowed her whole life by her cousins?
- Does Dylan have an eating disorder or is she just a normal teenager with body issues?
- Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch: While the books have actual flaws lots of people fixate on the fact that the Pretty Committee are bullies, when the only person who the Committee ever bullied was Claire in the first book.
- Draco in Leather Pants: A lot of people like to forget that Claire basically committed a crime (Impersonation) and ditched her friend in the first book even before joining the Pretty Committee.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: Layne, to many who dislike Alpha Bitches in general.
- Family-Unfriendly Aesop: As the Alpha Bitch is the protagonist, it falls into a sort of Blue and Orange Morality which means any lessons learned or implied tend to be this.
- Hollywood Pudgy: Dylan. Even the girl portraying her in photos is quite skinny.
- Love It or Hate It
- Love to Hate: Massie and Alicia
- Misaimed Fandom: A lot of people take these books too seriously. Might be a case of Double Standard, there are many male Villain Protagonists and they're treated as cool but as soon as girls start playing Xanatos Gambits they're horrid and unforgivable.
- Nausea Fuel: The author's Costume Porn is described as if the Pretty Committee are in their twenties when they are much younger, which makes it feel like Lolicon.
- Portmanteau Couple Name: Among the genuine fans, Massington (Massie/Derrington); Clam (Claire/Cam); Dolert (Dylan/Plovert); Jalicia (Josh/Alicia); Closh (Claire/Josh).
- Toy Ship: They're 11-13, all of the ships are like this.
- Wangst: Dylan and her weight.
- We're Still Relevant, Dammit!
- The Woobie: Claire, Dylan and Kristen.
- Jerkass Woobie: Massie.
