Street Fighter II V/YMMV

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: A lot of it.
    • Ryu is much more of a typical Shonen hero, in stark contrast to his stoic persona in the games.
    • Chun-Li is more innocent, cheerful and outgoing. Justified, since not only this alternative version of her is much younger (she's as much 15, while the Chun-Li we know and love is in her early 20's in Alpha) and, even more importantly, she appears before her beloved father is murdered.
    • Fei-Long not only has Anime Hair but is far more Hot-Blooded and emotional than in the games, bordering sometimes on Tsundere. Again justified, as he's also aged-down to teenagehood and therefore lacks the experience that he already has in the games.
    • While many of the established Street Fighter II characters in this series still resembled their game counterparts somewhat, Nash (a.k.a. Charlie) looks different enough to be a completely different character, since this series was made before Street Fighter Alpha came out.
  • Complete Monster: Aside of Bison and likely Vega, we have Nucchi the prison ward.
  • Ear Worm: The first and second OP's. Though the first, "Kaze fuiteru", may double as Crowning Music of Awesome.
  • Ho Yay: Let's just say that there's a lot of beefcake in certain scenes (like the gym at Guile's army base), and Ryu and Ken are very comfortable in each others' company. Specially in a certain pool scene... it has to be seen to be believed.
