Star Wars: The Old Republic/Trivia
- Fan Nickname:
- Jace Malcom, the Republic Commander from the Hope trailer has been dubbed Sithpuncher. Guess why.
- Whereas Darth Malgus is known as "Darth Gus", or just plain ol' "Gus", at least on the Jedi Council Forums.
- Nico Okarr has been called "Indiana Solo" and "Han Marston" by fans.
- Bowdaar. Just as Chewbacca was sometimes called "Chewie", "Bowie" is gradually spreading through the community.
- He's actually even called Bowie once or twice in game if you have him with you on certain missions.
- I Knew It!: Penny Arcade predicted that this game was being made in 2006.
- Hey, It's That Voice!:
- Female Republic Trooper is Commander Shepard! Not to mention Satele Shan, who sounds exactly like her ancestor Bastila.
- And since Female Shepard is here, Garrus stopped calibrating so much and became a Jedi Knight trainer and a Republic taxi droid. Either way, he's close to her.
- Why hello Bishop, I mean,Jedi Master Gnost-Dural.
- Steve Blum voices Sith Inquisitor companion Andronikos Revel, as well as Bouris Ulgo, the power-mad King of Alderaan. And one of the main quest-givers for the Bounty Hunter's class arc sounds so much like Oghren that you half expect him to yell out "Ass chabs!" and pass out.
- Listening to the male Jedi Consular speak for awhile might lead you to expect him to call up Victor Sullivan to help him hunt for Jedi artifacts.
- One should keep expecting the male Jedi Knight to repeat everything that the quest givers say.
- The female Imperial Agent is quite used to building her reputation up from the lower class to the Champion of a society. Which leads to a gloriously meta version of Talking to Himself in Chapter 2, as the Agent's Spirit Advisor/hallucination is voiced by Nicholas Boulton - male Hawke.
- The male Imperial Agent is Seb Wilkes, Sherlock's old friend from the episode "The Blind Banker."
- If you are a Sith Warrior, your instructor is Avon!
- Brian Bloom, who voiced Kane, Matt Hornet, Captain America and Varric is the male Trooper!
- Well, if Teyrn Loghain is going to be their several of their commanding officers, including the Grand Moff, Imperial players had better hope his schemes work out better than last time. Then again, that means they're also very much capable of Magnificent Bastardry of the highest order.
- The last boss of the Esseles flashpoint is Hawke! Also, he is a powerful Sith Lord called Lord Draahg. Guess after an entire story playing the hero, he would love to be a Sith for a change.
- Lassie is Lieutenant Jorgen, one of the trooper's companions!
- Bender/Marcus Fenix is Nico Okarr, very noticeable in the trailer when he yells "On those guns now!".
- Vette - A blue Twi'lek that sounds just like Mission Vao.
- M1-4X is a robotic version of the narrator from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He also sounds suspiciously like Mr. Herriman and Warden Sharp.
- The Voice of the Emperor is, appropriately enough, freaking Pinhead!
- One of the main Republic questgivers on Tatooine is Aqualad!
- Karliah has defected to the Republic from the Sith Empire.
- If you want Twilight Sparkle as your companion, then play a Smuggler cause Risha is voiced by Tara Strong!
- Agent Fauler is Cyborg!
- The female Bounty Hunter is Azula -- and the Pyrotech talent tree suddenly seems doubly appropriate.
- The female Bounty Hunter is Nova, one of her partners is Tychus Findlay, her antagonist of the first act is Rory Swann and her antagonist of the third act is Jim Raynor.
- The female Smuggler is Phil and Lil from The Rugrats!
- Jari Orez, the jedi overlooking Guardian Hold Six on Corelia is Lt. Kim!
- Name's the Same: No, Ayrn Lenieer is not related to Lenier.
- No Export for You: Or anyone outside of North America and select European countries.
- Partially justified, in that it would be quite tricky for a western-based MMO to make a dent in the glut of the genre that makes up the Asian market.
- Which has no bearing on the rest of Europe, South America, and Oceania.
- Slowly being rectified - stay tuned.

- What Could Have Been: According to Word of God, there were originally going to be three factions: Republic, Sith Empire, and Underworld. And before that, a developer said that they were going to have Voss Mystics as the third faction, so that's two factions that didn't pan out. They are focusing on creating more content for the iconic Republic and Empire classes, but have left open the idea of adding classes post-release.
- The same goes for the scrapped mechanic in which players could permanently lose their companions. Due to the complaints from testers who figured it would be a case of Like You Would Really Do It (and assuming that paying players would make the same error in judgment), this feature was removed, as the goal of the game is to "be fun" first and foremost.
- Apparently everyone did this.
