Sleeping Beauty/YMMV
Sidenote: This section refers to the Disney version, NOT the original version.
- Complete Monster: Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil, could possibly qualify, Though we don't actually see her do much of what supposedly made her the terror of this realm in the movie's story itself, she's shown to truly revel in her evil nature and makes no attempt to change whatsoever, more than living up to her name. She sentences a still newly born infant Aurora to be killed via pricking her finger on spindle of a spinning wheel on her 16th Birthday For the Evulz (under the excuse of feeling slighted for not being invited to the princess' christening) Once this curse is fulfilled, she abducts Prince Phillip specifically to prevent him undoing her spell and intended to keep him in her dungeon for years so that by the time he was released, he and his horse would have been so old that he could not have any hope in restoring Aurora's life.
- Evil Is Cool: Maleficent is famous for being a villain.
- Love to Hate: Maleficent.
- Magnificent Bastard: Maleficent again.
- Older Than They Think: Much of the music and songs were heavily borrowed from Tchaikovsky's music for the ballet of the same name. For instance, Once Upon a Dream, the movie's most notable song? Boom. In some parts, it's actually taken a step further: some parts of the movie's incidental music actually use movements from Tchaikovsky's original ballet with slight reorchestrations in some places! One of the most prominent examples is the use of Puss in Boots and the White Cat as the music with which Aurora pricks her finger.
