Remember
Remember is a webcomic written by Tim Maughan and drawn by him in the same or similar art style to Order of the Stick by Rich Burlew. It follows the adventures of Igon Minoblendy, one of the last survivors of Arcania, along with one of his best friends (And likely one of the few still surviving) Rain Morgan.
The comic has entered its sixth "book", The War Diaries, which will chronicle the last days of the the Moon Elf Empire.
Tropes used in Remember include:
- Amusing Injuries: The running gag of people landing on Igon after a teleportation
- Alliteration: The book titles, from Betrayal Blues to Malevolent Machinations
- Art Evolution: The comic originally started as a way for the author to develop his artistic ability, the art has seen various improvements as the story has gone on, including a female body type
- Bilingual Bonus: Igon speaks 6 different languages besides English, 3 of which are dead
- Deadpan Snarker: Igon. A lot, though others have fallen to it occasionally
- Deal with the Devil: Igon and Levistus
- Distant Finale: Book 5, the last in the series, occurs a whooping 104 years later
- Doomed Hometown: The aforementioned Arcania
- Failed a Spot Check: Disputable, the big undead killing machine was standing on a statue stand at the time after all
- Drunken Montage: Rain during Dwarven festivities
- Foreshadowing: Mr Huggles in the box, subverted in Rain & Lex having the same birthday despite Rain being a couple years younger than him
- Funetik Aksent: Dwarves, though different individuals do this in different intensities, Oscar is very dense, King Stonehammer only does it badly when nervous, Bedelia doesn't at all
- Genre Savvy: Not only does Igon and many other characters tend to get a touch dramatic, it's described as being a mandatory class in the magical academy curriculum
- Heroic Sacrifice: A few, notably Steph and King Stonehammer
- Hulk Speak: The half-orc soldiers, who are denied normal education back home
- La Résistance: The Exersus Resistance
- Luke, I Am Your Father: Rain and Lex, though as half-siblings by their mother
- Magic A Is Magic A: So consistent it nearly kills them all
- My Death Is Just the Beginning: Stonehammer, almost literally said
- No Name Given: Azul for the entirety of Book One, as well as "Mr Huggles" during the Earthlake battle
- Prequel: The entire story is a prequel for the author's character in an artistic MORPG
- Role Playing Game Verse: Subverted and played straight, with "Schizotec Province" and the Pikalites
- Running Gag: The teleportation landings of Igon, and others on top of him
- Schedule Slip: Almost always averted.
- Squishy Wizard: Igon, and to a lesser extent Rain
- The Unintelligible: The innate Pikalite language, literally just "Chu"
- Unstoppable Rage: "Black Rain"
- The Reveal: Mr Huggles and Rain & Lex's relationship
- Vancian Magic: The characters are at one time trapped under metres of sand in an abandoned temple because of this
- Whoopi Epiphany Speech: Rain and Igon's argument near the end of Book One
