Rance II
After the events of the first Rance game, he runs out of money and has to take a job in the town of Custom. It turns out that four witches have sealed Custom underground and it is up to Rance to save the day. Of course, all is not as it seems...
Rance II is the second game of the Rance series, made in 1990. The fan translation patch (found here) only works with the remake.
Tropes used in Rance II include:
- A Day in the Limelight: Chapters 3 and 5 have Sill as the main character.

- And you have to do this twice.
- The Cameo: Lia, Maris and Kanami from the first Rance come to gave Rance his Infinity+1 Sword.
- Cape Swish: Rance does this whenever he exits a store.
- Cutscene Boss: Elenoa.
- Deal with the Devil: Rance gets three wishes from the deal. His first wish is to have sex. He tries to wish for it again, but the devil begs for him to change his wish. He wishes for something he needs for his Chain of Deals. He uses his last wish to prevent her from taking his soul. She runs off crying.
- Demonic Possession: The mayor's daughter was possessed by Ragithis during her sudden disappearance.
- Deus Sex Machina: It turns out that the rings are making the witches evil. Furthermore, the rings only work on virgins. Good thing the Hero is a serial rapist.
- The Egyptian teleportation devices. The first one requires a panty flash. The second one requires naked breasts. The third one needs masturbation. And the forth one? Lesbian Sex!
- "Glad to Be Alive" Sex: Rance and Sill have this at the beginning of Chapter 6.
- Hidden Agenda Villain: Shizuka.
- Hopeless Boss Fight: The first battle against Mil.
- Hopeless Suitor: Bird. Poor, poor Bird.

- Indy Ploy: By Rance. He is able to get Mil Yorks to surrender by suddenly taking her sister (a current ally) hostage and holding a sword up to her neck. It works.
- The Ladette: Milly Yorks. Masculine speech patters, heavy drinker, bisexual and makes Rance feel like a loser in bed.
- Lady Not-Appearing-In-This-Game: The girl on the cover was supposed to appear in the game as Shizuka's half-sister, but they weren't able to put her in due to time restraints. She finally makes an appearance in Kichikuou Rance and Rance VI as Nagi su Ragarl.
- Lethal Lava Land: The fourth floor.
- Let's Split Up, Gang!: Sill gets caught in a teleport trap, sending her to Elenoa's dungeon.
- My God, What Have I Done?:
- When Rance finds out that Mil Yorks was actually a loli.
- Also what happens once Elenoa Ran is freed from her ring.
- Naughty Nuns: Taken Up to Eleven with the nun at the church. She has sex with devils. She also doesn't care a whole lot about her job.
- Not So Fast Bucko: After defeating Shizuka, you finally gather all four rings, the town becomes un-sunk, and a celebration party is held in your name. Problem solved, right? Wrong! The Big Bad ends up taking the Phil rings from you while possessing the mayor's daughter. Also counts as Fission Mailed, as the following CG is a fake ending screen, with Rance proclaiming "Screw This, I'm Outta Here". And then he's roped into fighting the True Final Boss.
- One-Winged Angel: The Final Boss does this twice! He dies soon after the second time due to abusing his power too much.
- Clipped-Wing Angel: His second form, thanks to Superpower Meltdown.
- Phlebotinum: Hirara ore, which is required to run the Tulip series.
- Plot-Relevant Age-Up: Mil Yorks, thanks to the Phil ring.
- Schizo-Tech: Nuclear lamps, artillery and the internet in a Medieval European Fantasy.
- Shonen Upgrade: Sill's Fire Laser at the end of Chapter 3.
- Three-Way Sex: Up to forty-one!!!
- Time Travel: The goal of the leader of the witches, Shizuka. She tries to prevent her father's murder, but Rance stops her and takes her back to the present before she can do anything.
- Virgin Power: The rings can only be worn by virgins.
- With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: The rings. Subverted with Shizuka.
- Womb Level: The third floor of the maze.
