RIN-NE/YMMV

  • Expy
    • Yahiko might have a little brother with no tan who is now a ghost cat.
    • Also, Tamako seems to be a close relation of Ichimaru Gin.
    • Due to Takahashi's rounded style, it now seems like Kagome has decided wear pigtails while Ranma ½ cut off his and dyed his hair red. Shippo's had enough of being a fox and decided to be a cat, Pantyhose Taro is taking a leaf out of Ryoga's book as the Dogged Nice Guy while another version decided wings and horns are the way to go and Kodachi is now sporting a bow in her hair and a shinigami scythe, also, she shrunk.
    • Sakura is definitely girl-type Ranma with two pigtails instead of one. Rinne is much more similar visually to Inuyasha. That said, all y'all look alike. She could also be Akane with pigtails.
    • See also Abi-hime, who has a strong resemblance to Ageha.
    • How come everyone says Tsubasa looks like Taro? He resembles Miroku much more. If it's because of his eye style in his debut chapters, then it shoulde be noted that Takahashi has been drawing his eyes in a "normal" style, like Sakura and Rinne.
      • That's true! Masato the literal Handsome Devil resembles Pantyhose Taro much more than Tsubasa does.
  • High Octane Nightmare Fuel
    • In chapter 63, there's an extremely small mini-shrine with small children's hands coming out of it, asking for help. VIZ even typed out the multiple "Saaaaave ussss~" requests in a spooky font. It's probably the creepiest moment in the entire series, so far.
  • The Untwist: Rinne's grandmother Tamako is the one who brought Sakura back from the land of the dead. It's obvious to the audience right from the first panel she's reintroduced.
    • The "hot secretary's" identity.
  • X Meets Y
    • Starts off looking like (early) Bleach meets Inuyasha.
    • More like Bleach meets Inuyasha meets Ranma ½ meets Urusei Yatsura.
    • The more glaring Bleach similarities end within a few chapters, so now it seems like Inuyasha meets Urusei Yatsura, performed by the cast of Ranma ½ after a make-over while reading some Bleach.
    • The main difference between this and most other ghost manga is that RIN-NE focuses more on solving the spirits' problems to make them go on instead of beating the shit out of them. There really isn't much fighting here.
